Any one here play at a high level?
Hey guys, Im doing an assignment for uni right now / writing an article for the citizen (uni-run news website). I'm pretty keen to talk to someone who has played footy at a high(ish) level to get a few thoughts on the upcoming NRL rookie show. Is there someone I can PM just to ask a few questions? c...

Hey guys... Hate to break it to you but press conferences in any walk of life, be it politics, sports, business aren't about the questions. Interviews are different. No one is going to go to the trouble of mic-ing up journos, many of whom work for rival media organisations to Fox. Channel 7's cover...

Fox wouldn't be allowed to get exclusive rights to it and even if they could itd be the beginning of the end for Origin. My understanding is that FTA channels get first dibs on these kind of sporting events but still have the right to refuse them (which they obviously won't in the case of SOO). Acc...

Really good to see Sticky having a crack about the disrespect shown towards the club by Channel 9 and other clubs. If we keep winning like this their going to have to show us on tele more often (they won't though).

Re: Ricky Stuart says NRL salary cap isn't working
Speaking of AFL, draft systems are a sure fire winner. Let's take the Melbourne Demons as an example. Over the past 7 years they have finished: 2007 14th 2008 16th 2009 16th 2010 12th 2011 13th 2012 16th 2013 17th In the 8 years between 1995 and 2002 Freemantle finished no higher than 12th. Drafts ...

We really should have a big look at what Port are doing in the AFL. They have just gotten their stadium in the city and both them and the Crows are reaping the in benefits. A tradition like this (and YNWA for the Liverpudlians) is a great way to get the crowed going before kick off.

I wouldn't read too much into this article.
Paul Kent has to write X amount of articles a week, he got sent to Canberra to write a story on us and chose this angle.
I'm almost certain he had written all but the entire article before he even talked to any of our players.

Turf Bar on Queen St, Limerick Arms on Clarendon St and the Imperial Hotel just by (Melbourne's) Parliament house are all league friendly venues. Don't quote me on this but pretty sure the Limerick arm's happy hour is around the same time as our game tonight.

hey guys, I'm currently writing a piece on the fans of clubs who aren't that successful. For the fourth year in a row, an adult ticket to the football will cost $20, a concession ticket $12, and a junior ticket $2.50. A family ticket will cost $40. These prices have gone up now (it's $17 for concession, not sure about the others). That said as a student being asked to pay $30 when I co...

Just adding to that Thurston 'no premiership argument'. I'd argue that most of the better modern day halfbacks won premierships with pretty decent five-eighths... Kimmorley had Hill Stuart had Daley Langer had Walters Johns had Johns etc etc * It's definitely not a rule, but not many Brett Firmans ...

Hayne to Raiders. No sources to back this claim up so it's likely the result of putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. Wouldn't say no but.

The Lee injury hurt us a lot tonight. Allwood does pretty much stop all attacking momentum when the ball comes his way and Reece's attitude of late has made that side pretty quiet.
