2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Haha that was fun to read up on. I’d love to have joined in and had a bunch of my random Simpsons references deleted because GE doesn’t get jokes You might say, I'm Iraqi Hahaha the joke that GE keeps stubbornly deleting is “I’m not sure I’m comfortable with old man Patterson with his finger on the...

Next week is Magic Round and it is going to be difficult to update the site in Brisbane. Some things need to be done in advance. Yeah, GE will be too busy smashing cans with me at the Victory Hotel! What has GE ever done to you :o Well, there was this one time he spilled his beer in my new car, and...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
It will be interesting to see what Roosters do from here. They have, by some distance, the best roster in the NRL. They have several players on significant unders. The stand out ones being Daniel Tupou and Connor Watson. They’ll be under no cap pressure to get rid of any second rowers (it seems lik...

That was the mutual sigh of Canberra Raiders and Gold Coast Titans fans upon hearing that star back-rower David Fifita was bound for Bondi, raising more questions about the set-...

Re: 2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Well, a strong tactical position would be if the opposition knocked on in goal and your fullback picked it up and ran 30 metres. Then you’d play advantage.
But if they scooted out of the in goal and got tackled on the 10, you’d say no advantage and rule a 20 metre tap.

2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
I don’t know, I don’t really understand the passage you quoted or the context of what happened last night. All I know is how they usually rule it. If it goes dead, it’s a 7 tackle set, regardless of what the lead in is (unless the defending team also knocks on somewhere). Yeah, I’m not saying they ...

2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
I didn’t see the game so I’m not sure the exact decision made, but if you knock on in the field of play, in the act of scoring a try, and it goes dead, it’s a 7 tackle set. Similar to if you knock it on ten metres out, and one of your teammates kicks it through and it goes dead, it’s a 7 tackle set....

He effectively saved us the game with the Foran charge down. He also backed up Strange's break in extra time. He's an effort player. As I said before, I'd like to see Chevy play when our pack is dominating and we're winning the ruck. In the meantime, give him time to develop in reserve grade and ap...

Re: Canberra Raiders back NRL call to eliminate disrespect towards match officials
I'm at peace with the onfield ref making mistakes, they are human. I'm fine with the Bunker going with the onfield decision when it's probably wrong but not conclusive. I can't handle the bunker making clearly wrong decisions. They have all the time in the world, multiple angles and still somehow c...

Weird stuff from the bunker. Why did it matter if the ball was regathered before going into touch? Was knocked on in the field of play Exactly what I was saying. Clueless Not watching the game, so I have no idea what the situation was. But was it to decided the restart based on touch in goal? If th...

This Trai Fuller bloke is dynamite. Wasn’t even in the Dolphins top 30, they had to get permission to use him. He’s carved up every game. Incredible skill for a ‘back up’. Imagine having him and the Hammer as your options for fullback. He’s a moneyball signing if ever I saw one. Why don’t you just ...

Canberra Raiders back NRL call to eliminate disrespect towards match officials
What happened? The game has a history of dissent towards referees, and no one has been really bothered, all part of the game. No referee ever cried on the field because of a put down. Suddenly a few female refs have a few atrocious games, everyone notices, and in this overly sensitive, hyper vigila...

But what's the point of him hanging out to dry a touch judge who incorrectly raised his flag? We all know the guy made a mistake, what's the point in crucifying him over it. Again, what he did to Kelsey Badger was simply unacceptable. I'd prefer he instead used his session to clarify rulings that w...

Yeah, put me down for the not liking of the Annesley segment each week. He picks and chooses what to discuss and sometimes if anything just highlights greater inconsistencies. Just get on with it, I say. The Titans game where he just hung Kelsey Badger out to dry after she'd had a pretty solid game ...

Yep, I have no dramas with the way the Panthers go about their business and have always found it amusing when people lob them in with the Roosters and Broncos as big spenders or cheats.
You can't begrudge a team just because they're good and have their actual **** together.

I got accosted by two Broncos fans at work last Monday after our dismal turn out against Cronulla. I gently reminded them that the Raiders haven't one the spoon since their inaugural year 42 years ago and enquired if they recall the last time that the Broncos won it. Was one of them Billy? Also, why do I keep seeing talk about people being abused? Who’s being abused here? Apart from Finchy and his irrational hatred for Stewart, I can’t see anyone else even emptily crossing the line. That’s because no one is Nicko. People are giving honest, polite feedback and they’re being cast to be...
