Re: Time for a different approach to recruiting?
Personally I'd just like to see the club look at reliable first graders who do their job properly... Guys who appreciate the opportunity to play in first grade because they didn't crack it so easily... I've never been a fan paying overs for spoiled brats who just broke into grade... I'd consider pri...

Re: Mulholland wants change to NRL contract system
To be honest, I really don't see what the big deal with the players signing ahead of time is... As long as they honour the contract that they are currently under... I get why players do it... Sign the contract now while you're playing well as one season ending injury could cost you a few hundred tho...

Re: Inability to build pressure
I've said it a few times on here and it looks like this year we will continue to be the team which can't build pressure on the opposition to save our lives (we excel and building pressure on ourselves though). Our lack of forcing repeat sets, our inability to make meters, our terrible long kicking ...

Re: 2018 Rd 1 V Titans: Game Day
While I agree that blowing a lead of that magnitude shouldn't be put on referees, sometimes the timing and the circumstances can be too much to overcome... So while our defence retreated all half and they offloaded at will, we just couldn't catch a break on 50-50s in the second half... **full disclo...

Re: Where to from here
Just doesn't seem to be working at the moment... Austin to fullback for his support play and it might open a bit of space for his running game... Wighton to centre instead of Leilua... Maybe L Croker in the halves to see if he's legit or not (with Whitehead on standby)... I actually thought last yea...

Re: Worst perfoming Canberra side of all time
Overall, I can't call this team the most underperforming... As disappointing as some of the losses have been, I've witnessed past sides in recent times give up to lose between 20 and 40 points consistently... The turnovers in attack have been a big let down though... As mentioned by some of the post...

Re: Smith sees NRL Grand Final future outside NSW
I'm not convinced that Smith is that much behind the idea of moving the grand final... Just with recent events of two Queensland teams in the grand final, he has to appear open to the idea... The only way the game should ever be moved from Sydney is if the stadium starts being half full on grand fin...

Yes Kiwi Raider, considering their other injuries Marshall would've been a great foil for Johnson... Maybe Tohu Harris is in the frame to wear 6 depending on the conditions? Him and Lolohea to switch between centre and half in attack and defence? Jordan Kahu has played Q-Cup at 6 and has some good h...

Re: Canberra Raiders renew calls for development compensatio
The club realizes you can't rely solely on development. The issue is that if there is no incentive at all then it stops all together and nobody is explaining who picks up the slack. All suggestions are that the governing body is going to put the money down for this... But even if they don't... Ther...

I'm with Raidernation's original point with this... The part about putting the money into the top squad... The Milford case should be a lesson going forward... The only thing that worries me about Perth is when the WA mines play out and the East Coasters and Kiwis leave... What then? Is there a big enough local support long term? I hope so... That was a bad call on sisa as an aside. He is entitled to strike the arm. Doesn't matter in the end but it was just one of many bad calls Should not have been binned as it was a professional fowl. GE, I'm not disagreeing with you about those two clubs...Far from it... The title of the thread is already saying that the third party system is being looked at (whether accurately or not)... Re: NRL consider revolutionising third party payments
I don't disagree that the roosters and the broncos benefit greatly from third party deals, however, I still think that capping all 16 clubs at the same value isn't fair either... There are clubs out there with their hands out to the nrl because they are struggling to keep their doors open yet they ...

The part about not signing people until their 18 is interesting... Thaiday would be great... Pipe dream though... I rate Mitchell Dodds' front on defence but his knee injuries are going to cut him short... I like Ava Seumanufagai... No problems with what DCE has done... If the rule doesn't exist, he probably doesn't commit so early before Manly can come in with an impossible to refuse counter offer... Also the Gold Coast basically treated Sezer like dirt by not even being bothered to table an offer at the time... Gold Coast ran...

I don't like golden point because I don't think it starts from a fair vantage point... One team kicks off directly to the other on the back of a coin toss... In a bad scenario one team could lose the toss, kick off into huge wind; and then the opposition could kick a field goal with the same wind be...
