Re: Milford returns to Canberra for 2014 preseason training
Lets break this down:
1. Though NONE currently reside in QLD, should be relatively easy.
2. Dreamworld - Had no clue, its the type of thing you just know. (before my time though ;-P)
3. Ill conceed I didnt know Bennett was 64 (62 sounded right), BUT, if youre not guessing Bennentt is in his 60s and youre in the NRL, where have you been?!?!?
4. How do you NOT say G.B.R?!?!?!? Really!!!
5. Comm Games - Didnt know, but I would have said early 80's for the Comm Games, coz I was at the Brisbane Expo in '88 and it was before that. (again, before my time)
If you look at the answers Chambers is probably the winner, BUT, I would be tempted to say Sims, at least names and dates are close enough to be excusable. Milford had NOTHING.

Re: Milford returns to Canberra for 2014 preseason training
I knew all of them except for the dream world one and the exact age of Wayne Bennett (I thought he was in his 90s)
I'm amazed Milford thought the Brisbane Games were held in 2006. That's only 8 years ago when Milford would have been 11. Surely he would remember if the games were held in his town?

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

Avatar Bet - bleedgreen99 - Raiders to make (BG99)/miss(Lucy) the 8. Avatar from last round of regular season 2015 until GF 2016.
Signature Bet - Raider85 - Raiders to get(Lucy)/miss(R85) the wooden spoon. Signature for entire offseason.
Bottle of something to the value of $70 - Matthew Borewood to not see (Lucy)/to see (Piggles) a first grade game in 2015 for the Warriors.
The Name Change Bet - Regarding the three bets above;
I win all three I keep my name.
I win one I become "the Punish"
I lose all I become "Chicken Little"

Re: Milford returns to Canberra for 2014 preseason training
Milford's gonna rue the day he knocked back $1m a year (sorry, I mean his parents knocked back) from us to sign for less at the Broncos....he has no prospects outside football. Although, in saying that I'm sure the Thoroughbreds are kicking in some extra for him and they'll find some sycophantic Broncos corporate sponsor for them and Milford to use and make up the shortcoming. Not to mention the $$$$ they would have given to Halo and his family to gently persuade their naive son to come home.
Such a coincidence Prince and Wallace were suddenly no longer required just before Barba and Milford looked like signing there. Nothing suss though.

So what you're saying is he's going to regret accepting less money. But you're confident he's not accepting less money...
Yep sounds consistent.

His parents had little to do with it, I'd wager.

Never said I am confident he isn't accepting less money.
Confident he will be getting more than he will be on the cap at the Broncos though and confident his family were induced during his push to the Broncos.

That's not what I said you said
You said he'd 'rue the day' with the implication that it would be based on his earnings. Doesn't fit with the second half of your post.

Re: Milford returns to Canberra for 2014 preseason training
OK, the reason I wrote that he'd rue the day is that unless he has a Lockyer like career the Broncos will spit him out once they have chewed him up. That is, if he doesn't live up to the hype by age 25 all those lucrative Broncos off field attractions will disappear and taking the guaranteed money our club offered will be a distant memory.
My hate for the Broncos may blur my rationality, but I can't stand them.

Thought so, be huge news for me to not have seen and would've caused an outrage on the site. Cheers mate

Still laughing at the maths on Jake Friends answer.
I always knew WB was a bloody good coach, but as captain/coach of Souths (Brisbane) as a 3 year old? Impressive.
