If everything went our way
Taking a look at the draw and the ladder it is not impossible for us to finish with the minor premiership.
For this to happen the Storm would need to drop their last three games unlikely but not impossible they have Manly, Brisbane and Cronulla.
Sharks would need to drop the next 2 games against the Rabbits and Roosters both of which had good wins last round.
And we would need to win all three of our games.
Unlikely for it to all go down like this but how good is it that we are mathematically able to get the minor premiership rather than previous years where we would be a mathematical chance of making the 8.

Dogs are a real chance of winning their last 3 so we just need to keep winning, which realistically we should do
The plateau worries me, but we've been getting better each week.. not worse

Mathematically we could also finish in 5th..
Main thing to do is win this week and rule out that possibility.
Then focus on Manly.

dogs wont win the remaining 3, cant see them beating the horses this week or the cowboys next week.....
I reckon we will be 2nd behind the storm

Re: If everything went our way
Either tbh..
Cowboys have stank and the Broncos beat up a reserve grade Parra side. Dogs are in better form than both of them

Re: If everything went our way
Forget about the MP, won't happen. And we really need to focus on the Eels because in some ways this will be a bigger challenge for the boys, it was easy (well, easier) to be mentally up the last 2 weeks with the opponents we had, but it's quite possible we could lose if we don't switch on this week as well. There's no reason we shouldn't smash the eels and I'm hoping the inconsistent Raiders side of the last 5-10 seasons is gone - was so impressed with the performance on Monday.
Re: If everything went our way
We could very easily lose to the Eels.

Re: If everything went our way
My point was more that it is great to be in a position where it is mathematically possible although highly unlikely but so much better than being mathematically possible to make the 8 like previous seasons.
The subject title was if everything went our way.

While still only a remote chance, it's more likely that we'd lift to second place on the ladder over the last 3 rounds, that would get us a home final week 1.

That's my fear. We've peaked to early. If we were heading into the first week of the finals this weekend I don't think many teams could stop us.-TW- wrote:Dogs are a real chance of winning their last 3 so we just need to keep winning, which realistically we should do

Finals don't start for a month. A lot of teams go wrong in this kind of situation.
Re: If everything went our way
Yep. I think we'll finish second and if we maintain our line speed and commitment to holding our line, I don't see a side that can beat us this year. I know it sounds arrogant (and probably is) but the only way Canberra can lose is if we beat ourselves.

Re: If everything went our way
If we made it to the GF and won, I think it would be a 14 game winning streak.
There has to be a loss in there somewhere IMO.

Re: If everything went our way
We'll lose somewhere along the way, but the self belief the team has gotten out of the last few weeks will be invaluable come the big games later in the year. We know now we're not just a challenger to the big guns - we're right up there with them at our best.
Re: If everything went our way
Cronulla need to drop 2 games out of the Roosters, Bunnies and Storm in Melbourne.
Unlikely, but possible.

Roosters have come good now that they've got their "stars" back. Bunnies likewise since GI came back. And the Storm are top of the table for a good reason. Cronulla dropping two is definitely possible, just not likely.Beejay wrote:Cronulla need to drop 2 games out of the Roosters, Bunnies and Storm in Melbourne.

50/50 at worst I reckon.
If everything went our way
This thread is "if everything went our way." That would mean the storm lose every game, sharks only just beat them and we win every game by a massive margin earning the minor prem. We then go on to with the gf with every one of our players receiving a clive churchill medal, stadium named after them and bae and i getting married during a romantic bike ride around civic, much to dubbys disdain.

Just did the ladder predictor on NRL.com and I can see a pretty amazing final round starting to take shape. The Nickman wrote:I wouldn't even go as far as to say unlikely.Beejay wrote:Cronulla need to drop 2 games out of the Roosters, Bunnies and Storm in Melbourne.

I gave the Sharks a loss against the Bunnies this weekend but a win against the Roosters. I honestly think they'll lose one of those two, given how well the Chooks and Rabbits have played he last two weeks (and how many of their players are playing for contracts) and how off the Sharks have looked.
I gave us wins against the Eels on Sunday and Manly the week after. Although both games make me nervous.
It all comes down to Storm vs Sharks at AAMI Park and Raiders vs Tigpies at Leichhardt. My biggest worry would be the Storm resting a few players if they already had top spot locked away.
Raiders Lime, what they really drink in the dressing room.
Re: If everything went our way
Well then in that scenario we would come 2nd and the Sharks 3rd. Meaning first week of the semi's would be Raiders V Sharks in Canberra, with the Sharks having their wheels fall off over the last 6 weeks of the comp. The Nickman wrote:I wouldn't even go as far as to say unlikely.Beejay wrote:Cronulla need to drop 2 games out of the Roosters, Bunnies and Storm in Melbourne.

Re: If everything went our way
They reckon since the Bunnies flicked assistant coach Wayne Collins, the players have rejoiced with a bpmew lease of life, wasn't he a former Raider? I also tip Sharks to lose all three remaining games then bow out of the finals CHOKEjedski wrote:Roosters have come good now that they've got their "stars" back. Bunnies likewise since GI came back. Re: If everything went our way
To be honest, if everything really went out way 14 clubs would be found guilty of salary cap breaches that meant they were eliminated from the finals leaving us to play the Knights in the grand final.
Although a much more satisfying result would be for the donkeys to jag a few games and for the raiders to meet them in the grand final and flog them.

Yes, pumping the Broncos in the finals would be great, would be happy pumping knocking them out in any roundpickles wrote:To be honest, if everything really went out way 14 clubs would be found guilty of salary cap breaches that meant they were eliminated from the finals leaving us to play the Knights in the grand final.
