Yeah gtfo
But in saying that, if we did pull something off I'll be the first one to pick him up at Canberra Airport.

Riaan thinks the guy isn’t worth $700k and he’s usually an astute judge of all thinks footy so I’d say proceed with caution…..
Old crazy take Riaan hey - wonder what he’s up to these days?

Gold Coast Titans star David Fifita top of the Canberra Raiders' wish list
Reports of Titans back-rower David Fifita technically becoming a free agent on November 1 has opened the door for the Raiders to make a play at signing the Queenslander once more. Fifita's agent said they had no plans to go back to the open market after twice fielding offers this year.
"I'm sure Ricky will ring his agent," Raiders CEO Don Furner said. "We'll definitely be keeping a close eye on that one."

Funny Sattler saying the Titans have to be strong and tell Fifita he wants to be in or out. They have already said it’s OK, you can have an option every year!
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
Not sure I'd want this same circus at our club. Every year a 3 month process revolving around one player? Sounds a little toxic to me. Especially in a team sport environment.greeneyed wrote:Funny Sattler saying the Titans have to be strong and tell Fifita he wants to be in or out. Yeah we can't be going down that path again. If we do offer 400k less.
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
****. Have some pride lads. I don't want this clown anywhere near our club. He has openly used us to drive up his salary twice already and has come out and said he never really considered leaving. At some point you have to say thanks but no thanks. Announcing we'd consider him again reeks of desperation and damages our brand....

Sometimes it takes 4 consecutive crash balls before you barge over on the 5th. Keep plugging away I say.
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
I'd take him in a heartbeat.
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
actually, I don't mind if he uses us to drive his price up again, at the Titans. Well and truly cooks their cap. I'm ok with that.
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
Nailed it Billy. Every time I yelled at the TV ‘spin it wide you morons’ we’d crash over for a try next to the posts on the next set.Billy Walker wrote:Sometimes it takes 4 consecutive crash balls before you barge over on the 5th. Keep plugging away I say.

Watching them score tries is no fun when you're angry

‘Delivered a duck egg’: Fifita exit clause looms as Titans urged to sign halves amid horror start
There are fears David Fifita could exercise a get out clause in his contract by Round 10 as the Titans roster was slammed amid their horror start to the season under new coach Des Hasler. Brent Read believes Fifita will leave the club by Round 10 with the Raiders the most likely landing spot.
“Canberra tried to get him once before,” Read said. “The issue they’ve got is he’s got to Round 10. Two weeks ago, I would have said he’s staying. The mail I got, he was staying. After the way they’ve played, I’m worried now, Dave might go.

Didn't Sticky say in his Round 1 Presser that he was originally off Hosking coming in 2024 because he knocked us back previously???? Now, after two knock backs we are going after Fifita again?

If we sign him, Hosking is on the bench. I'd rather we target a 9.
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
If he does come I hope he's ready to join the queue behind EW, because he's our rusted on starter.
But nah, he's mentioning us to bump up the next contract somewhere else.

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
I can’t see this happening now. Hosking has been too good, the club is better off spending the cap dollars elsewhere.

If we do then it better be at bargain basement price
Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
Agree. Particularly with the money being offered. We'd be a genuine chance at a quality hooker for a cool million.Bluesbrother wrote:If we sign him, Hosking is on the bench. I'd rather we target a 9.

Give him EW’s 750k and some more. Get him in green.

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita... for a second time
Hosking has proven to be better than we thought and we desperately need a hooker that can play... but ill be damned if responsible cap and squad management is going to get in the way of breaking out the ramp again.
