I hate updates when they aren’t real updates. “Breaking news! Injury update! We’ll get scans and wait for the results to see how bad it is!”
In other words no more info than we already knew when it happened.
(Not a criticism of you GE, just these injury update releases in general)

Zac Hosking’s season-defining call
Raiders forward Zac Hosking will hold a crucial meeting with medical staff to determine if his season is over. Hosking dislocated his shoulder and his meeting today with surgeons is to determine if the ligaments were damaged to the point where he needs an operation.
The recovery period following an operation varies between three to six months. At a minimum, the Raiders have ruled Hosking out for the next five to six weeks, as he awaits a complete diagnosis.

Canberra Raiders anticipating that Zac Hosking will require shoulder surgery: Riccio
The Daily Telegraph’s David Riccio has revealed that Zac Hosking requires shoulder surgery and won’t return to the side until July at the latest.
“The Raiders are anticipating that Zac requires surgery,” Riccio said. “It was a dislocation and with that came some damage to the ligament. It’s in need of repair via an operation so Zac is heading down that path. It is a three to four month recovery process which means that this injury is not completely season ending but it’s a huge chunk and portion of what will be a tricky part to the season.

Canberra Raiders star Zac Hosking will try to avoid shoulder surgery
Zac Hosking is hoping to avoid surgery with the Canberra Raiders second-rower to undergo rehabilitation on his shoulder for the next two weeks before reassessing. The 27-year-old met with a specialist on Wednesday, with a decision made to try to get him back on the park without needing to go under the knife. He'll then be reassessed in two weeks to see if the rehab's working or if he'll need to have surgery after all.

Zac Hosking out for at least 10-12 weeks
A decision whether Raiders forward Zac Hosking’s season is over will be determined within the next two weeks. In a fresh development, it can be revealed that at a minimum the outstanding Canberra recruit will miss the next 10 to 12 weeks of the season.
The next fortnight is paramount for Hosking. After meeting with a surgeon on Tuesday, the 27-year-old has been placed on a strict rehabilitation program in a bid to strengthen the ligaments that were damaged due to the dislocation of his shoulder. If the rehabilitation program fails to gain the desired traction, he will undergo immediate season-ending surgery.

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders injury/suspension update
Haha another meaningless "update" that gives us no more information than we already knew. Why bother with these things? Just give us a real update once you have the scan results and recovery timeframe!
Jamal Fogarty suffers biceps injury
The Canberra Raiders can provide the following injury update after our round seven match against the Broncos.
Jamal Fogarty suffered a biceps injury in the first half of the match and will be sent for scans to determine the severity of the injury.

Raiders find out Fogarty's injury fate after innocuous tackle causes turmoil
It's the innocuous tackle that's thrown the Canberra Raiders' season into turmoil. In a massive blow, Jamal Fogarty will undergo surgery on his biceps and miss the next three months after tackling Brisbane winger Corey Oates just before half-time in their loss to the Broncos.
It's a double blow for the Raiders, given not only will they be without their halfback for the next three months after a strong start to the season had them in the top eight, but Fogarty was also in career-best form - having emerged with one of the best kicking games in the NRL.

Best of luck with the surgery today Jamal. I hope your rehab goes well.
Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders injury/suspension update
Do we have any updates on Rapa? I thought he was out for 8 weeks which would get him back around round 15, but the NRL website has him returning as early as round 11 which is only 3 weeks away.

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders injury/suspension update
The game day preview or the team list and first post in the teams and previews thread have the latest official return dates… or our estimate based on the team list announced.
If there are updates we’ve not picked up… grateful if people could add them.
Be aware the NRL.com list here: https://www.nrl.com/casualty-ward/?comp ... eam=500013
… generally includes the earliest return date. It isn’t always up to date.
Latest as we understand it:
Elliott Whitehead, Calf (Round 9)
Corey Horsburgh, Groin (Round 11-13)
Jordan Rapana, Knee (Round 11-13)
Jamal Fogarty, Bicep (Round 20-22)
Zac Hosking, Shoulder (Indefinite)
Corey Harawira-Naera, Seizure (Indefinite)

Hosking injury update
Zac Hosking was scheduled to meet with medical staff to make a call on whether to have surgery or push through pain and play on. That has now been pushed to next week.
"It's unfortunate the doctor fell ill so Zac missed out on his appointment yesterday. But that'll be early next week. There's no hold up to the process. It was only going to be a meeting for Zac to hear whether it was rehabbing well enough to keep moving along with rehabilitation or going in for a season-ending surgery," Stuart said.

That’s what I thought too. If you don’t fight these small inconsistent minor charges then they bite you at the back end of the season.bonehead wrote:the attacker literally put his head under morgs armpitBJ wrote:geez both those incidents were softer than many others that don't make the charge sheet. time to fight them.
