But being inexperienced doesn’t explain or excuse paper thin defence and the same putrid non-existent attacking structure we have seen for 10 years.

Sharks have done pretty much nothing special and will rack up 50 on us here.
Nothing special?

They've owned the ruck and done the basics better.

They've outclassed a borderline NSW Cup side.

Take out Hynes, Kennedy and (ugh) Wilton do you think it's even?
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

He's 18 and there is no structure for him to bring that to the table
Being brave and physically handling this level is about all i need from him at this stage
I've taken all that into consideration. Just saying, a guy who is at a natural disadvantage with limited physical attributes, in a comp where you're up against the athleticism and skill of Walsh, Ponga, Trobjevic, Tedesco et al, you need to have A LOT up your sleeve (think Gutherson), lest you want to find yourself in the bottom 2-3 players in the position.

This is a fair argument. Fullback is a stacked position these days

Look you might be right and his ball playing never becomes a thing at NRL level, but he's got it at lower levels and he's got loads of time to develop. He's not close to what he'll be as a player right now.
Think it's faaaaaaaar too soon to be worried about that.

I have a feeling we will be saying this a lot

I said last week they we could get the spoon and nothing in this performance indicates otherwise. Our spine is either too young or not very good and we don’t have the quality of players around that spine to overcome that.
I agree. No Fog, no Rapa, no Hosking, no Horse, and Levi at hooker = spoon contention.

Haha we actually said before the game that it doesn’t matter who our goal kicker is with Fog and Rapa out as we won’t be scoring any tries. How accurate that is

100% agree. Timoko aside they have looked disinterested from the opening whistle.

Bit harsh on Smithies. He is a toiler who is in the middle of everything, his upside is obvious to me but he can't do it alone. Hudson on the other hand is lacking in all areas. His defence is horrible, his attack has no variation, he lacks size, footwork, strength, speed and power. He has peaked and is on the decline IMO.

He's been very disappointing from the games ive seen
We need MUCH better from him
All evidence is that he doesn't have much better to give. His "bad streak of form" has run about four times longer than his good streak did.
