There is no doubt in my mind that the Barba will leave the dogs. If he winds up at the Broncos i cant honestly see the need for Milford

Re: Homesick Raiders youngster Milford eyes Broncos move
FYI Brisbane Broncos give 2 billion dollars to every single player from QLD and VIC which they also develop from the womb, just ask them...Greenmachine77 wrote:Was just talking to a mate who unfortunately supports the Broncos after he rang to say 'We're getting Milford your superstar, hahaha'. I replied with a few words and basically told him to piss off (with additional colour) and then he says 'You guys stole him from us, he was always ours from his junior days at Logan'.
Was so happy after last night's win and am now angry. Really angry.
Honestly most people up here have no idea how LITTLE they do in regards to supporting QLD RL.... Almost every club up here is supported from down south!

As for Milford, I really think this is a storm in a teapot.... This hasn't made "headline" news on any decent source so I'm doubting there is much behind it...

Oh and why has no-one posted the most important quote of that article:
Love the Raiders forever bit!
This has all come from his family not moving down.... There are a billion things we don't know about, but even more the papers make up so I think we are safe still.... I still think Papalli resigning is the glue that holds Milford here.
P.S. - Can someone down there please get them both matching Raiders4eva tats? lol
^Papalli"Me and Tony have become pretty close," he said.
"We were brought up in Brisbane and moved down together. He was talking about moving his family down but that is his decision to make, hopefully we become Raiders forever but we will see what happens."

Dying media trying to sell newspapers by making up stories.... It didn't make foxsports.com.au and they usually make up their fair share too... Didn't make any of the headlines on any league webpages... Just **** rags trying to stop their fall into the piles of outdated **** no one cares about.

Re: Homesick Raiders youngster Milford eyes Broncos move
I'm getting pretty sick of the lack of credibility and accountability for accuracy in sports journalism in this country, what with rumors consistently being reported as fact.
If this actually turns out to be true, I'll be gutted, but until I get a reliable source I'm going to try and pretend I heard nothing about milford -> broncs.
btw lol at the idea of them buying both milford AND barba, but I'd be genuinely curious to see what sort of plays they could produce. didn't someone on here propose an all milford team a few weeks ago? and then iirc someone else upgraded that team to a half milford half fensom combination

Re: Homesick Raiders youngster Milford eyes Broncos move
To me the story looks planted. The Broncos can't speak to Ayoub before November, Ayoub says he hasn't spoken to anyone, but somehow the journo knows about the clause and can say its a done deal. Clubs and agents are getting very dodgey if they dont want to wait for a player to actually be off contract.

Re: Homesick Raiders youngster Milford eyes Broncos move
Being a poor season for Brisbane, the Courier Mail journalists have been jumping on anything that could involve a Queenslander returning home. Look at Shillo (they ended up with Kennedy), Barba (I heard in April that he would "sign by the end of the week") and Smith. Peter Badel, the author of this morning's article, I have found to be particuarly unreliable. I'm leaning towards it being a media beat up. Brisbane have a very good young half coming through, Jayden Nikorima, who was just selected in the Australian Schoolboys side (u18s). Hopefully they stay patient with him and sign Barba. It won't solve their halves for next year (unless Barba and Hunt play halves and Hodges or Hoffman play fullback), but hopefully it will keep them away from Milford. We just need to throw the bank at him on a long-term deal. Hopefully he realises that the older he gets, the more comfortable he will be away from his parents.

Yeah maybe we shouldn't believe and panic over what a Brisbane journalist has claimed. Just a thought. Media is rubbish at the best of times, it's about what sells, Broncos can do with any help they get and Milford is making noise as an up and comer. Finding a link between him and Brisbane add in the slightest bit of uneasiness, surefire seller. Unless official statements come out from all the proper parties, I'm going to treat this article like what it is.
Pure ****.

I don't know if this is a rumour or not, but I have no doubt in my mind that he will leave the Raiders to go back to Qld to play.
This is the negative about the Raiders having the South Logan nursery in Qld.

Re: Homesick Raiders youngster Milford eyes Broncos move
The kid seems happy at Canberra and with Papa there I'm confident he will stay. Honestly the club should do everything in its power to keep in Canberra, what ever he wants and whatever it takes, just do it,
Credit where its due we have gone through this with Carney and Dugan and Don always came through with the goods, he has been outstanding in that regard.
Everytime the kids touches the ball I get excited that something is going to happen, reminds me of when Chicka use to touch the ball back in the days.
Surley we can borrow GE's private jet and fly him down to Brisbane on call???

x2 on GE, it would burn if he left
I'm not going to keep a close eye on contract stuff as I didn't with Carrney or Dugan. I just hope he stays

GE gave his private jet to Dugan during contract talks last year. Not seen it since.

I love how he is extreamly lucky.. ;-)
Avatar Bet - bleedgreen99 - Raiders to make (BG99)/miss(Lucy) the 8. Avatar from last round of regular season 2015 until GF 2016.
Signature Bet - Raider85 - Raiders to get(Lucy)/miss(R85) the wooden spoon. Signature for entire offseason.
Bottle of something to the value of $70 - Matthew Borewood to not see (Lucy)/to see (Piggles) a first grade game in 2015 for the Warriors.
The Name Change Bet - Regarding the three bets above;
I win all three I keep my name.
I win one I become "the Punish"
I lose all I become "Chicken Little"

I can't see Brisbane sitting on their hands and hoping a schoolboy will be the next big thing in a few years.Travis wrote:Brisbane have a very good young half coming through, Jayden Nikorima, who was just selected in the Australian Schoolboys side (u18s). I agree with a lot of other people's sentiments that Barba and Milford wouldn't work in the same team. Hopefully they lock Barba up soon.
