The 2017 Greenhouse Team - Bench utility
The 2017 Greenhouse Team - Bench utility
As usual in the off season, we're conducting a series of polls to determine The Greenhouse's view on the strongest Canberra Raiders starting line up for the coming year. The team looks very settled, but there's still room for debate in some positions.
So who do we want in the bench utility role? Kurt Baptiste has suffered an Achilles and will be out for a significant part of the season. Should Adam Clydsdale replace him? Or should it be new recruit Jordan Turner? Or someone else?
Ready, steady, vote!
You have ONE vote in this poll and you can change your vote. If a player you want selected is not in the poll, simply list their name in the thread. If a player is listed, you MUST vote in the poll for your vote to count.

Baptiste as his combo with Hodgson had a huge influence on our season. Till he's back though Turner has the chance to earn the spot.

Turner or maybe even Brent Naden seeing he can play forwards or cover backs

Given the polls are always about the strongest team for Rd 1 have to go for someone other than Baptiste. So Turner gets it for me.

Turner for me please. Although the format is a different game I didn't think that Clydesdale offered that much in the 9's. In fact I thought he was bog average.

Then why include someone unavailable?greeneyed wrote:Given the polls are always about the strongest team for Rd 1 have to go for someone other than Baptiste. So Turner gets it for me.

If Baptiste was fit, I would be voting for him but he's not so I've gone Turner
Re: The 2017 Greenhouse Team - Bench utility
Croker's a smoky IMO. I reckon he covers 7 and 9 better than Turner.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Not that 9s is a great indicator....
I thought Turner looked overweight, sluggish and had shaky hands. He got better as the tournament went on and looked like he provided some shape when he touched the ball so maybe it was just nerves. I think it's pretty safe to say he's too slow to be a centre. Naden had it all over him in spades as far as being a danger out wide.
I thought Clydsdale was a lot more positive than his games in first grade last year. Took the ball to the line, had good hands, no overly stupid plays or paper thin defence.
Turner gets my vote. I think he can get a lot better than what he showed at the 9s whereas Clydsdale just doesn't have that next level in him. At his best he's solid. Although I won't be as worried this year if he does come up into the top grade.

I've gone Turner. Not just because Baptiste is injured, but because I want Hodgson playing 80 at hooker. Turner can cover the balance of positions.
