Ricky Stuart’s Canberra Raiders: The new face of NRL discipline

With Croker the sheriff in Canberra, Soliola and Hodgson are his deputies. And when it comes to setting the culture and training standards, the trio who have taken charge.

Has anyone ever heard of the "hairdryer treatment" before? I hadn't!

Nope, I've heard of the blowtorch treatment though.

I'd rather the hairdryer than the blow torch though

This one stood out to me:
He and teammate Blake Austin experience it every week throughout the season when the coach lets them leave training early to watch their children play local league on a Saturday morning.
Junior league is played on Sunday mornings in the Canberra region

It's a reference to the sprays which were very famously delivered by Sir Alex Ferguson in Man Utd dressing rooms. So if it doesn't make sense, blame English soccer journalists.

It's much easier to have your "senior" players set the culture when said senior members are the best players in the club. It's almost impossible to do when the likes of Todd Carney and Josh Dugan are your key players.

Recruiting Hodgson, Soliola and Austin turned this club around in that regard. Those 3 and Croker set the tone for our squad and the rest pretty much follow their lead.
