2017 Rd 19 V Dragons: Fans' Choice Player of the Year
2017 Fans' Choice Player of the Year
The Fans' Choice Player of the Year has been awarded since 2004 with an impressive roll call of winners, including Ruben Wiki, Alan Tongue, Terry Campese, Shaun Fensom, Jarrod Croker and Josh Hodgson. In 2016, Kangaroos second rower Josh Papalii took out the award. An individual trophy, sponsored by The Greenhouse, is presented to the winning player at season's end.
We have built a great tradition with this award at The GH, and you can be part of it!
Who will be the winner in 2017? It is you who will decide!
In the Fans' Choice Player of the Year, you can register your votes here for the top performed Raiders player, on a 3-2-1 basis. The rules are you can only allocate 6 points or less each round, and can split them any way you like, but no "half" points are permitted and no player can be awarded more than 3 points.
So, you can give the best player 3 points, the second best 2 and the third best 1, in the traditional way. Or you can give two players 3 points each. Or you can give 3 players 2 points each etc. No half points are permitted.
At sometime after Tuesday each week, all the points awarded by everyone to each player each round will be aggregated and then the top three players will be awarded 3, 2, 1 points.
Only votes made by Raiders fans in posts on this thread on The Greenhouse will count.
In this thread, feel free to speculate on who will be the player of the round prior to the match.
But 3-2-1 votes can only be made AFTER completion of the match in this thread.

Re: 2017 Rd 19 V Dragons: Fans' Choice Player of the Year
This is a tough one because Sezer objectively won the game with his intercept try and his 40/20 but wasn't great overall but i still feel for those plays he deserves points so
3. Taylor
2. Sezer
1. Papalii
A few players very unlucky imo. The entire backline was pretty good but they did have a few mistakes in them. Paulo was terrific but that miss tackle was not a good look. It was Tapines best game in ages.
Stuart sorts out the issues with the spine and we are a good side

The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

3 - Sezer. 2 big plays basically won the game
2 - Taylor - Amazing impact with just 22 mins on the park
1 - Papalii - knocked out Dugan. Worth a couple of weeks suspension.

Re: 2017 Rd 19 V Dragons: Fans' Choice Player of the Year
For most of that game no one was worth the points, but Sezer and Taylor win them big time.
2 - Sezer (His best game in Green! Gee I hope he gets some major confidence from that and finally take control out there! It's pretty obvious we can't leave it up to Hodgson!)
2 - Taylor (Also his best game in Green, welcome Coal Train!)
1 - Croker (For the kicking which won it for us as well and the fact he was defending like a champ out there, the Dugan wreaking ball!)
1 - Papa (Played as crap as most for a lot of it but a big effort to backup so shortly after Origin and even though he will do a week or two for it, worth it on Dugan)

I'll have one of these thanks. Describes it perfectly. I wonder if Dugan scores and Dragons wins if Croker doesn't have such hatredPigman wrote:3 - Taylor: best player of the night
