49th min TRY WARRIORS to Setu Tu, great run from Ali Leiataua in the lead up and every offload sticks. Volkman can’t convert. 24 points the margin, that’s pretty much the ball game.

Love that he is having a crack and getting himself involved in the game. Good signs despite a few errors. The Greenhouse wrote: ↑September 9, 2023, 2:15 pm 61st min ERROR RAIDERS Ethan Strange some good stepping, a bit of a break close to the red zone, but he’s tripped up and loses the ball when he hits the ground.

Strange is certainly light on his feet. Can threaten the line.

Another error from HSS and another try from the Warriors. Please punt him. He is surplus to requirements.

Try Warriors with a bomb to Asomua who does not have any Warriors contesting the ball but he cannot take it and a TRY to the Warriors.

FG to Volkman 49-6. If Madge is coaching defence for the Club then he has missed the NSW Cup side.

A sad way to finish the season for the Raiders NSW Cup side. They sure missed the workrate of Mooney and Puru.

Re: 2023 Canberra Raiders NSW Cup
A few players from the Warriors we should have a look at - Zion Myu, Volkman, Leataua.
I hope we aren't resigning Webb. And I hope we are looking to offload HSS asap. The decision to resign him was a poor one.
Pretty happy with Chevy and Strange. They look a class above at a very young age.

Re: 2023 Canberra Raiders NSW Cup
Rough finish to the year but still a really promising season. Thought the game highlights how hard it is for young middles to play up in NSW cup compared to the backs and how far off players like Clydsdale really are. They probably did well to get the win last week in hindsight.
I thought Strange was the best despite his errors. Levi also pretty good when he went to lock.

Tough way for the season to end
Good year given all the disruptions and the fact the two major contributors in the spine took major step up in competition

Re: 2023 Canberra Raiders NSW Cup
After that performance, I would say there are a few players a bit further away from first grade than people think
1. Stewart - needs another year in reggies. Will be quite a good NRL player as his ceiling because his positional play is exceptional. He seems a smart footballer. Just doesn’t seem to have the attacking strings to be a generational style talent though (hopefully I’m wrong)
2. Asomua - Strong carries. Has a weakness in terms of defending kicks. Should play first grade next year though.
3. HSS - fringe first grader at best
4. Morkos - Should start the year in first grade next year.
5. Savage - Has some pretty obvious deficiencies but has pace and sides need that. He either needs to play first grade to develop or we let him go to somewhere where he will play first grade.
6. Strange - Has the highest ceiling of the lot. He needs to improve his decision making and his involvement but he’d be the one out of Stewart or Sanders that I’d be most willing to play first grade next year.
7. James - Fringe first grader. His kicking game needs to improve if he is to play first grade. Like his attitude though.
Levi might be more of a chance as a lock than as a hooker. Definitely not good enough as a hooker. Trevilyan has regressed since he got dropped - hopefully he shows his potential more next year. Clydesdale has a bit about him but he is far off.
