You see, when most of us do that bit we say “beat”, but what’s interesting is how you never expect this team to win, despite your fervent backing of the coach.Brew wrote:Same Team that played the Roosters please Sticky.

It’s truly bizarre. It’s almost like you value awkward photos with the coach over any form of onfield success.

Yeah not feeling a win this Sunday. Id be more confident if the Roosters were in form.
Anyway, let’s hope so

**** if I know how we are 5th but I'll take that in the face.
Not convincing, I've supported this team for long enough to know better..
Wins are good, I'd love for us to whack 40 on the board for a change like the campo days

I wouldn’t mind seeing Savage in for Hoppa, but I doubt we’ll see that now, Hoppa had another strong game
Re: 2023 Rd 18 v Titans: Teams and Previews
Croker could be out for 11 days
If so I think it’s fairly obvious
1. Savage
3. Kris
4. Timoko
Puru in for starling
Ata for papa
Mooney in for whitehead or something please.
What will happen
1.kris
3.HSS
Whitehead in

A week of face shoving, and another big spanking at home against a middling Titans team who did their homework, probably.

Re: 2023 Rd 18 v Titans: Teams and Previews
This is going to be ugly. The Titans score a lot of points but generally can’t defend. The last few games they’ve defended really well though.
On the flip side we can’t score many points and can’t defend. Sets us up for a 34-18 type loss

Prefer Morkos be given a go instead of HSS if toots is out

Whitehead should be tapped on the shoulder this week and retire-he sucks now

stop kidding yourselves, will be same team minus papa, in come Ata thats it

Re: 2023 Rd 18 v Titans: Teams and Previews
Interesting.
I'd watch that game and still think we need a new #1. No improvement in any of the areas he lacks in- for 2 months now. Same faults in defence (misses every one on one, not great vs kicks) and no attack whatsoever... It's your most important attacking position and we have poor attack... Not one iota of improvement in this position shown in 2 months. Still brave. Still straight. Still not a FB and every stat bears it out.

Re: 2023 Rd 18 v Titans: Teams and Previews
By all reports and watching the highlights Levi played pretty well in NSW cup. I’d guess he will come in, Ricky would’ve decided Starling was gone when Jack gave him a serve.

I’d 100% be picking Savage, and I think Kris has serious defensive issues. But I thought that was by far his best attacking game yet.BadnMean wrote:Interesting.

Recovered the drop out. Tapped back for the try off the bomb. Supported a line break off the ruck.
But one swallow doesn’t make a summer, if he’s fullback he’s got to be doing that stuff consistently, and I trust Savage to be that more regular threat.

Kris has no problem with effort. He's trying his guts out.Which is why it is hard to speak against him.
He just has no evasion and very very limited ability to pass, step, run the footy in space etc etc. I'd argue that even his support play given our vast array of offloaders lacks instinct and positional play/running threat as well.
Cold hard facts/stats put him at the very bottom of damn near every. single. attacking. and. defensive. stat... And it's no longer a small sample. It's 4 bloody months. is he any better?
He's just not a FB no matter hard he tries. It's FOUR MONTHS into the season. There has been xero trend in improvement. Can we now accept he is just not getting better, not a FB, great bloke but **** NOT A SPINE PLAYER.

With the logjam in the eight and some byes in close-ish proximity this is shaping up as one of them 8 point games.

It’s a 12 point game, due to the fact we just came off a bye and won tonight.gangrenous wrote: ↑June 25, 2023, 10:23 pm With the logjam in the eight and some byes in close-ish proximity this is shaping up as one of them 8 point games.

18. Frawley
That’s my predicted side not the side I’d pick. I’d have Puru on the bench for Starling, playing the same role starling did with 30 in the middle and 20 at 9. I’d also have a more versatile player in Cotric’s place. If we could get Sasagi mid season he’d be the one or a CHN. Id also consider starting Mariota for Saulo.

Re: 2023 Rd 18 v Titans: Teams and Previews
With Papa unlikely to play I reckon Guler will start with Saulo and Mariota on the bench. Puru will be first game back from injury so I don't see him debuting in FG this week. Interesting that Woolf got 61 minutes this week and defended well. Sticky will not change a winning side so other than Papa I don't see any other changes. If JC's HIA was only precautionary then I don't see him missing this week.
Panthers play Storm next week so should we beat the Titans we will draw level with one of them on the ladder. Should Souths beat the Warriors then we are a Top 4 side by the end of the next round.

Not Savage. Cotric or Smith-Shields in the centres if Croker doesn't play. Leave starling where he is.thevikingclap on ig wrote: ↑June 25, 2023, 11:05 pm 1. Kris

Re: 2023 Rd 18 v Titans: Teams and Previews
Yeah Papalii is probably going to miss a few games... he went off immediately after suffering the injury and was almost immediately ruled out... just following that track, it feels like anything less than 2-4 week injury would be a surprise
Guler will likely start, though maybe Saulo if they feel they need Guler to "lead" the 2nd unit middles.
Ata Mariota seems to have the inside track on being the next middle up on the bench, but if this is a month or longer injury, Mooney is due back by in that time, and after a week or two, id like to get him some legitimate minutes in FG. Id seriously consider having Ata and Mooney alternate each week so both are getting the development time
I think without Papalii it's going to be important to do what we did last night too, which is find a way to get Hors a little breather, he's playing really well this year but i think we're over extending him. I'd REALLY love to get Puru in the team instead of the outside back to help spell him but that's i think unlikely unfortunately
