Re: 2022 New halfback?

Wont there be a half back at Easts available soon? Either Lam or Walker? Walker just re-signed and Lam, probably sucks? But maybe he doesn’t? There is a lot of bad options. None floated here are particularly good, or likely to succeed imo. Lam is firmly in that group to me, but at least he’s got so...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021

Im still not totally sold Hoy cant do it, but doing it in a worse side, means less chance. He was much better with ball in hand last yr than early this yr. Hoy was good when the Knights were, and not so good when they stunk. Hynes has always been in a good side. Hoy's still young. Maybe he can do i...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021

I don’t rate Hoy at all Pass for me Why? What does he do that's exceptional? He's not overly quick, he's not a particularly good ball player, he's not a particularly dangerous ball runner. He's an ok with his defensive contact, decent enough positionally and relatively safe. There is just nothing e...

Re: What does our next rebuild look like?

I think Adrian Trevilyan needs a bit more time to simmer. His fitness levels are still coming up. Maybe another pre-season will sort that out. Rushton is also still developing. He's shown some good signs but consistency is not there to be starting him. Not an option to start next year. I agree, but...

Re: What does our next rebuild look like?

For me we need to do some like this: 1. Hynes (ball player)/ Hoy (ball player and GKer)/ Dufty (speed!) 2. Semi Valemei 3. HSS/ CNK 4. Kris 5. CNK/ HSS/ New Signing 6. Jack 7. Options aren't ideal, Fogerty (GKer), Brooks (OK GKer), Flanno (GKer), Lam, Croft, Johns, Boyd/Sexton 8. Papa 9. Starlo 10. ...

I for one vote that we keep Matt away from any recruitment please. I'd rather Marc Herbert come back from the dead than the likes of Moses Mbye or Cooper Johns. Hold the phone... Re: 2022 New halfback?

Fogerty is a perfectly cromulent halfback option if you're wanting to be able to compete and make the finals but not really trying to win a premiership Which to be perfectly frank, might be where this era of Raiders football is headed Fogerty would probably jump at the chance to. Just remind him by...

Re: 2022 New halfback?

Haven’t seen Fogarty play too many bad games... he’s one of those late bloomer types that will probably never get him the recognition or wraps he deserves. I’d be ok with offering slight overs on a nice 3 year deal, to give some stability to our halves pairing over that period. Chad got ARey money....

Re: 2022 New halfback?

SJ - Mid 30s , always busted, we sniffed around him before GWilly. Id probably prefer him over Benji, but really IMO, he is a 1yr deal stop gap guy to help bring a Schnieder, and thats it. I cant see him taking that. By mid 30's do you mean he's in the middle of being 30-31 years old? Hmmm... I was...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021

yeah i really like the idea of Hynes We can move CNK to a wing/centre spot and he provides ball playing which is sorely needed with what we're looking at in the halves without Gwilly... thats the move i think we are in desperate need to make. I like Hynes or Hoy as a FB option, esp Hoy as he is a G...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021

Really concerned about our recruitment for 2022. We need an outside back. Broncos, Cronulla, and Canterbury seem to be ...

DK Metcalf competed in the US Olympics trials for the 100m. Finished 15th of 17 so no go for qualifying. Still ran a 10.37 for the 100m. That's seriously quick for a man his size. This is my kinda topic, but lots of waffle. The options for players off contract in the next 2yrs isnt great. There are a few worth looking at but, a lot of guys unlikely to leave. So we will have to find some guys willing to leave early or find more gems in England. Also, we dont want the majority ...

I think we have a good base in our forwards for the rebuild , Emre, Horse, Sutton, CHN, Starling, Huddson are all 25 or younger, the problem is our halves GW Will be back in the UK and Jack will be 29 come the start of season 2022. Re: What does our next rebuild look like?

I think the next era of Raiders football needs a heavy focus on a few key attributes: - speed... cant not have it anymore, specifically in the back 3. Need it at all three of those spots - mobility in the middle... think we're on top of this tbh and the way we recruit and the sort of players we go ...

Re: Josh Hodgson stands down, Elliott Whitehead appointed co-captain

My 2 cents.
Winners are grinners, so this stuff goes away.
Losers find excuses, and the wheels fall off.
However, the smoke is bellowing on this 1, with several players involved, and thats worrying.
