Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I've watched Chan Kum Tong a few times in the lower grades now and I don't think he fixes the problem. Surely there is a pommy hooker that's going well enough to justify bringing them over. That’s what got us into this mess. How has Trevelyn’s defence been in Cup in his limited minutes? I would rea...

Re: 2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Manly lie down for pennies a lot! I would really liken to see the threshold changes that the bunker or ref can only change their mind if it is a sin bin / send off. When it was originally put in place that it needed to be a reportable offence that actually used to mean something now everything goes ...

2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
Weird stuff from the bunker. Why did it matter if the ball was regathered before going into touch? Was knocked on in the field of play I think they were trying to work out if it was going to be a scrum after a knock on, a play of the ball if it went into touch or a 20m restart if it went dead in go...

Re: 2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day
How on earth are referees meant to adjudicate this disrupter thing? The only thing I have noticed is it can be 100% a disrupter but if they take the catch they have not been disrupted so a penalty is never given. You drop a catch and if there is someone within the shot then you are 50/50 at getting...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
Now that it seems likely Fifita will be on the move, I can’t help but feel we may have missed a trick not making him a can’t-refuse-big-money offer. Whilst he plays a non-premium position, he’s still a difference maker/match winner that we could afford the luxury of while we have a relatively cheap...

At full strength I think we can fit the below in just means we run a heavy bench. I have been pleased with Mariota’s versatility to play 2nd row which allows us to carry another big bopper.
8- Tapine
10- Horse
13- Smithies
15- Papali
16- Mariota
17- Mooney

That late tackle by Crichton on Sezer when he was held in the tackle was ridiculous. And to follow it u...

Commentators losing their minds because Sezer is not binned following a Hip Drop Tackle.
Even saying that’s always a sin bin, only 2 nights ago at this very game that was a sin bin.
Should we tell them?…..

Thanks for the updates!
Good result given how many players this team is missing compared to what they had in the first few rounds.
Sounds like Cook is killing it.

Re: 2024 Round 11 v Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
The fullback spot will be really interesting. Based on Sticky's comments Rapa will definitely be ready, but I thought based on his comments on resting Chevy that he was fully intending to bring him back as fullback, but with Cotric being outstanding last night, it leaves a real headache. 1. Chevy 2...

Re: Through green eyes 2024
Yeah at the time I was asking myself if Starling looked good or if Levi was just that bad that what Starling offered up made him look good. I suspect it might have been a bit of both. One thing I will say is Starling seemed to set the line speed when he came on which he has failed to do in the past ...

Re: 'We definitely 1 million per cent want to keep Trey': Raiders keen for Mooney to stay
I still think while Horse is out and Ata is required to fill in at second row that Mooney should be starting. Would provide a much better start to the game than Guler and I reckon he would relish the opportunity. Might be a case of Ricky holding the young guy back to allow him to play against tired ...

We did swing the ball wide a few times to the right but Manly were up on us quick and we would run out of room.
Tried out on the left but Hoppa killed the play with his complete lack of pace.

After beating the Titans I was thinking if we come away from the Broncos, sharks and Manly games with one win before we head into the bye then that is a pass. Once Fog went down half way through the Broncos game I honestly did not know where our next win would come from, so to get 2 points against M...

I don’t think he has but Papali can afford to drop off a bit when we have Tapine and Horse playing well. 100% he is the guy you want there to mentor Mariota and Mooney into grade until they have their 30-50 games under their belts.

interesting alternate reality... if EW wins the challenge down 22-24, we probably kick for goal I said in a group chat at the time and almost everyone in it agreed... losing the challenge and being forced to play for the win was a blessing in disguise and our best chance to snatch a very unlikely w...
