Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart wary of fast-finishing Penrith Panthers If the Canberra Raiders needed a reminder of Penrith's now trademark fast finish, they need look no further than their win over Manly last week. "The last three encounters have all been very close. We let them back int...

Re: 2018 State of Origin III: Queensland V New South Wales
Slater was a terrible choice for player of the series. Tedesco played one of the all-time great Origins in Game 1 and no-one came close to that performance over the rest of the series. On that alone he should have had a head start in the voting. Outside of Tedesco, Turbo Tom, Maloney, Cordner or Coo...

Re: The Jarrod Croker binning
There were two professional foul sin-binnings on the weekend - Croker and Mitchell. Both offences were committed by players defending in their own 20 and hindering an attacking player off the ball. Neither was worth a penalty try (as the rule stands, and fair enough) and while Croker's was a tough d...

Re: 2017 NRL Finals Wk 2: Teams and Game Day
Cowboys limped, staggered and crawled into the top 8. Now they are 1 win away from a GF berth. Unbelievable. I really couldn't understand why Parramatta was such a hit favourite in this one - I think it was more to do with Sydney media hype for one of their own than the actual players on the field....

Blake Austin could have the worst footy smarts I've ever seen for a half. At least McCrone had a short ball Bit personal :thumbsdown Oh please Well McCrone had short legs and short arms as well but you chose to pick on his short ball. I just think some things don't need to be discussed in the open

Re: Ricky Stuart
The most baffling thing about Ricky's coaching over the past three years has been his reluctance to change the side, regardless of results. Fair enough at the end of last year when first grade went on a long winning run but in both 2015 and 2017 first grade has been ordinary while Mounties have been...

Re: NRL Rookie winner Lou Goodwin signs with Canberra Raider
I watched this show each week (and genuinely enjoyed it). Lou was the standout contestant and a deserved winner but faces a huge task to even challenge for first grade given the Raiders' strength in that area. What really surprised me, though, was that none of the struggling clubs (cough, cough Newc...

Tedesco, Frizzell and J Bird the only genuinely good news to come out of that series for NSW. Still some seriously big questions to answer in the 9, 7 and most of the 3/4's. Re: 2016 State of Origin III: New South Wales V Queensland
Queensland's dirty little secret is that they realise they're no longer the side they were four or five years ago, and that's why they do everything they can to stop a game of football breaking out. The 12-3 penalty count was not poor refereeing - it's was a reflection of Queensland's very delibera...

Don't worry about his stats, Woods' air swing when he tried jumping on the NSW huddle after Jennings' try was comedy gold. If you didn't see it, go looking for the video. That should be enough for him to keep his spot for next year

Even more depressing is that while we keep waiting for Queensland's superstars to retire to give NSW a chance, the fact is their next generation looks light years ahead of ours as well. Milford, Hunt, the two Jakes (Granville and Friend), Holmes, Napa, DCE and Munster all played no part this year - ...

If Dugan's still out then I don't see much to be gained by messing with the backline for Game 2. The halves were better than anything else on offer and, if nothing else, Morris did a good job on GI. Mansour was good, Jennings didn't get much space and Fergo and Moylan will be better next time round....
