Re: 2024 Round 1 v Knights: Game Day
After watching the replay, it seems Cotric spent some time at fullback. When Hastings scored that try late, it was because Cotric didn’t tie in as the defensive fullback in the line. Interesting that Cotric and savage both spent time at fullback

Re: 2024 Round 1 v Knights: Game Day
The big takeaway for me is seeing we are no worse off without Jacko (granted, only one game sample) + we have cap room and up side with a young up and coming playmaker Lazy Sydney and Qld journos aside, people who have actually watched the Raiders consistently at least for the last 2 seasons would ...

Also, who were the couple of geezers who were bemoaning Fogs kicking game after about 5 minutes. His kicking was pretty much perfect after not nailing his first 2-3 kicks. Yeah ill put my hand up for that... 5 minutes is generous, he was kicking like **** for a bit longer than that, but he found hi...

Re: 2024 Round 1 v Knights: Game Day
Great start to the season for us. Things to take away - knights picked the wrong team: picked on last years form rather than picking cogger and KPP to start. - Amazing game plan and we stuck to it all night (well done fog) - minimal errors and built pressure We can’t play like this all year though, ...

Why we didn’t put on a play off the scrum to kick for Xav Sav is unbelievable. That is so against Stuart's never risk anything approach though... He won't take off the training wheels. The play was to kick to savage off the scrum.. Newcastle read it and that’s why rapa took the run and offloaded. L...

Re: Canberra Raiders team for 2024
Personally, I think Levi and starling have had ample first grade games to show what they have to offer. Stats and eye test show we are a better team when Woolford is on the park, so I would rather finish the game with him on the field. To make that happen, I would be confident in Puru covering the s...

Kris
Wighton
Fogarty
Woolford
You can move the deck chairs around, but this is what our club has at its disposal. Don’t take wins for granted, especially against the roosters, away from home. We are what we are, try and find some joy

‘Let the kids in free’ has some merit. I remember Laurie’s last game in 2000 being a little fella on the field and forming a guard of honor when he ran out. I hope they do something similar for Crokes- he’s been giving away headgears, kicking tee’s, shorts etc to kids for a decade- it would be nice...

Just saw the Rapana incident I’ve honestly never seen a penalty for accidental contact with the legs like that I’ve seen it plenty with sliding knees or a lash out with the boot but never when there was no intent So in that respect I think that’s a lucky call. However with how the game is officiate...

When does Tom Deardon come off contract? He’s only 22 and by the time he’s 26 will mature from 6 to 7. It’s this type of player we need to throw $1m at and hope we get a top 3 NRL player out of it by the time they’re in their peak

A coach is only as good as his play makers. Not even Bellamy could get a storm side to fire without Munster and Paps against the dogs last week. There’s a reason the Roosters let Pearce go to get Cronk and haven’t made a Prelim since he retired, despite having an amazing roster. A coach can implemen...

This fullback situation is an inexcusable failure of roster building Even more inexcusable given Rapana told him he doesnt have the legs for fullback... It truly boggles the mind that the club did not prioritise having a servicable back up in that spot. I agree, but more so on a basis where we have...

Let’s just push the breaks a little on HSS. He’s played a handful of FG games and is only one game back from an ACL. He has shown nothing in juniors to suggest he has the pace or passing game to be a fullback.

Has to be EW. I rewatched the final in Melbourne recently and CHN came on for a Timoko HIA at centre. In defense, he got caught numerous times in the middle of the field, he’s gets drawn to where the ball is and doesn’t stay in his channel. He’s got the skills of an elite attacking edge forward, but...

Rapana doesn’t have a high footy IQ. There was a play late in that first half when we were attacking line and it almost broke down on last tackle. Schneider picks it up and has a perfectly weighted kick to the right wing. Had Rapana been on his wing on last tackle instead of infield and offside when...
