Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

I mean if we had a Walsh, Paps, Ponga, Gutho, Hammer on the books it would be a different discussion. If we could go out and recruit one of them (except Gutho), it would be a different discussion. It's the idea of recruiting the other players on the list to play over him that is flakey and based on ...

Re: Fullback

Carbone has said they look for competitiveness as the number 1 trait. Chevy has that in spades. All three of them do. He also said physical traits don't have to always be elite if other traits stand out because there are plenty of elite players who are exceptions to the standard physical "type&...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders

I don't think he was leaving because of Arthur and I don't think they would sign anyone good enough to sway him to stay. If they had of got Bennett maybe I'd be worried. My only concern would be if Brown or Moses have a get out and the Roosters swoop in, but it would take a while for that to play ou...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders

I think it was the press conference when he re-signed. His comments sounded like it was new signings, not re-signings. Used Chevy and Strange as examples of the strategy of bringing in young players and then said there's another couple that they will announce. Also said they are still chasing a marq...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders

He ran it quite a lot today and had two nice line breaks around half way which led to tries. One he popped up on the right and had a nice play with the five eighth to score. Set another try up with a short ball close to the line and had a couple of line break assists. He kicked pretty well but doesn...

Re: Fullback

Yeah, he isn’t low effort at all. Statistically in the backs only Hoppa works harder and even then it’s closer than youd think. Maybe he needs to be more game aware but that will come. In terms of Chevy, the club has said these young players were signed to be the future of the team. So my point is i...

Re: Fullback

It used to be "Savage doesnt make the tough runs", once he did that it just became a general "Savage is low effort" because of a couple of 40/20s. As for Armstrong, the club has already locked Chevy in for 4 years and went out of their way not to sign even a short term fullback l...

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders NSW Cup

Dud performance, it was just errors all day. The Ref didn’t like them much either. I thought Asomua was strong all game and Clydesdale looked pretty good. Woolford was doing well when he came off. I’m not sure if Hoppa was out celebrating with first grade last night but he was very quiet by his stan...

Woolford really taking control of the game now.

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives

City ran away with it 48-18 in the end. Just too big and strong across the park. Milin was the best of the colts in the second half again and Brophy did what he could behind a badly beaten pack.

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Junior Representatives

20-14 to City at half time. Brophy scored a nice try backing up a break by the five eighth. He nailed a 40-20 a bit later. He came off after 30 for a bench hooker, which was odd when he was playing well and directing the side. Country plays better footy but City is physically a lot bigger across the...

Yeah, 18th man in a dead rubber would be a no brainer. Maybe not if the series is on the line. There's a few weeks to go yet though and Madge would know him well.

I wonder if you went back in time if people would’ve said “he has a way to go to be the next O’sullivan” about Daley.

Odds are against Strange been that good but I doubt he could’ve been much better.

1 and 6 are not much harder than Hodgo. CNK and Jack.

Williams was the best halfback but didn’t play enough. I’d have Sezer and Fog about the same.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

Waitere hasn’t played much wing, he is more of a utility that can cover fullback and center. He has played a bit in the halves as a junior as well. He has potential but if its top 30 I’m a bit surprised they locked him in already.
