The new variant may require the NRL to bring in a mandate……if it’s more contagious then it could affect the running of the comp next year.
Logic would suggest it’s better to be vaccinated than not….

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
As I said before, Papa getting the vaccine is a good thing for the club as he is a leader and that may help sway opinions within those holding out. The reality is all these restrictions on the unvaccinated are designed to protect them from catching Covid. I suspect it will get to a stage where gover...

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
Good to see Papali getting the vaccine. Hopefully, he is viewed as a leader by other players and his decision will go some way towards helping others make the same decision. Just as a side note : the Uk recorded around 45000 positive Covid cases on Tuesday with 160 deaths. They are 80% double dosed ...

Jacob Liddle hopefully or the QLD Cup premiership hooker….Raiders_Pat wrote: ↑November 17, 2021, 5:11 pm It's near certain that we'll sign another hooker if we let go of Hodgson. Trevilyan isn't in the top 30 at this stage.

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
We definitely need a 3rd option. The backend of the 2021 season showed that….1 stray elbow and Starling was out for 6weeks. We would need at least an experienced, serviceable hooker as a backup ala Baptiste or Siva….

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
As with anything in life, people are motivated by what will cause less pain or inconvenience to oneself. At the moment there is no glaring urgency for the players to get vaccinated in the ACT. Come next year when they can’t play it will become more real for them. I suspect not being able to travel h...

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
At this point of the year I say **** the tigers and we keep him; - We are going to have to use the money saved to buy a hooker anyway and it’s not exactly a flooded market. - Tigers being the basket case they are can pay overs (as we are normally forced to do) - All this talk of the relationship be...

There's no way Raps is on 400k. I remember CNK renewed with us for circa $500k/yr so maaaaaybe CHN is probably about right I think it's only our two best props, best second row and best fullback so not to worry Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk Perhaps an opportunity for some young guys to step ...

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
If the club won’t sack them then they should RE-negotiate the terms of employment. The reality is is that if they are sacked no other club will pick them up…..$2mil worth of cap on the sidelines is completely untenable

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
I wonder if the club is also just hoping it will go away over Xmas/New Year before the season starts. Otherwise it is very naive to carry 3-4 players over a season that take up a huge chunk of the cap whilst being unavailable for 6 or more games. I think in 6 months time, when the reality of players...

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
It’s a real shame that he’s moving on. I would’ve thought he had plans for a post playing career here as an assistant coach. Knowing that he’s building a house here, it must’ve of been a real blow-up between Ricky and him. Perhaps Liddle could come the other way as a backup hooker? Not that I rate him

Re: Bateman confirms he’s heading back to Wigan Warriors in 2021
Hi shoulder is shot. He was told by the surgeon here in Canberra that he should retire. That’s why the Raiders let him walk……it’s obvious from his form in the ESL this year that his shoulder is done.
He’s just eking out the last of his career before he retires….good luck to whoever picks him up

Re: OFFICIAL: Bateman 'won't be at Raiders in 2021'
Another way to look at it is his shoulder is “stuffed” and he won’t play again at his previous level. ITs very unusual to have surgery again in quick succession unless the initial surgery was stuffed up or there was an infection (Sam Burgess had this last year and ended up retiring).....I’d be very ...
