Re: Terry Campese saga has become a soap opera for Raiders
The CT journalists sound very frustrated with those running the club. They sound like they've got to the place I did with the club a few years back.
The lack of transparency is painful and Furner sounds like he acts more like a mob boss than a professional CEO.

Re: Raiders reportedly cut captain Terry Campese
Every year lately our season seems to be ruined by at least one disaffected player. I'm not sure who is in the right, or if even both parties are in the wrong. There is not enough information for us on the outside to make that call. But I'd personally like to see both Campese and Don Furner Jnr else...

Re: Hodgson signs with Raiders
I would have liked to see some of his passing game in that video, that's what we really need him for, and scoots up the middle. Seeming him sneak over the try line time and time again doesn't say much given how utterly rubbish the ESL is (sorry if that offends anyone). I can't believe how many years...

First game I've watched live in a while, geez we are flaccid in attack.
I've always thought Stuart a decent defensive coach and a crap attacking coach so I'm optimistic the addition of Mick Crawley will help matters.

Re: Club legend or not, Raiders should axe captain Campese
Campo should have moved on a long time back. He's done and dusted. I hate that we signed a six year contract (and yes I said it at the time too). It's just too long in the NRL. If he loved the club he'd step aside. I don't disagree, but I'd say he also loves his Wife and family, and I doubt his Wif...

Re: Is it time for the NRL to intervene at the Canberra Raid
I admire the sentiment. I think the Club has hit the point some of us predicted it would a few years back if the club failed to listen - where a lot of the supporter base get beyond caring. A crowd of 5,000 is a worry in this context. There is a risk of missing out on a generation of supporters too,...

and if the cold can someone please explain to me how the nz warriors can recruit quality players?? Have you ever been to Auckland? I agree with the original sentiment though. Re: OFFICIAL: Todd Carney sacked... again
I hate it when people sweep away a multitude of sins by reference to "oh he was just p*ssed". It's so naïve and hints at a sheltered existence and a lack of actual exposure to alcoholism/binge drinking/mental illness. These people choose to drink in spite of their knowledge of what happens...

Really, that is interesting.Raider Bell wrote:Does anyone else realise this markraider1 is the bloke Dugan told to end himself, and that he should let Dugan have a go at his missus?
Rather ironic that a bitter Raiders fan was Carney's ultimate undoing.

Remember him peeing on Dane Tilse's mate, or lighting farts with matches (causing burns to one of his friends)?
Having seen the picture in question I just couldn't stop laughing. It's so ridiculous.

Well this is a cheerful thread. I'm glad I cut the emotional cord some time back. I used to care too much. Until the club sorts out its crap it's not worthy of our collective pain. Re: 2014 State of Origin II: NSW V Queensland *Teams p1*
Sad thing for rugby league that such a close game was decided by such a shocking refereeing error. Dreadful. Queensland were brave and showed incredible Queensland spirit, overcoming such injury and disruption, including Tate going off. NSW were disgraceful through much of the first half with the f...

So I didn't get to see the game. What was the crowd number?? 20k? lol... Official figure was 8k, but the realistic figure was would have been lucky to have 5k there... There is a massive divide between the two also. It's evident in most places you go in Canberra that there is the well off and the not well off. And the not well off, are really really not well off. The Canberra Govt/PS culture does nothing to rectify this also it just turns a blind eye. I've seen i...

Everyone knows I agree, but I suspect you'll get "but it's all just been an Ayoub setup, toughen up and we'll get through this" style replies. Or the usual defensive "Canberra is a great place to live" answer from people outside of the relevant demographic (and by that I mean fil...

Tim Gavel on the radio this morning was hinting the whole thing was an Ayoub set up, starting with the pictures at the airport where someone tipped off the photographers. If that's true then it's more evidence of his adversarial approach rubbing people the wrong way and that leading to problems for...

I was burgled three times in Canberra and had my car broken into and the stereo stolen on another occasion (dif location).
I have lived all over Oz and now in various places in Europe and never been burgled anywhere else!
Serious underclass/drug problem in the ACT.

The Raiders need to relocate to the beach, with a completely new leadership structure. Some people will claim this is the end of the club, but personally I think something is better than nothing. The heart can live on, and so can the history.

It's pretty damning that when we finally hit the market flush with lots of cash we succeed only in 1 out of 5 signings, and the sole success is a bit of a gamble. I ask the Don Furner's Jnr supporters, do you still think he's doing a good job? Or do you blame Canberra, in which case what is your sol...

Re: Jack Wighton regrets reaction after Raiders loss
The us and them thing is a big problem for the club. IMO under the dual-Furner/McIintyre reign there was a lot of damage done between the fans and the playing group. When things went bad the fans became the "enemy" and it seemed like the players were told that the fans were after them when...
