Re: A new Canberra Stadium

Interestingly ACT population projections indicate we could reach 800,000 people in the territory (not to mention surrounding regions) by 2060. That's near the population of San Francisco. So this stadium could be servicing a region of 1 million people by the time it hits 35 years old. San Fran's NFL...

An internal draft would cover movement of players already in the NRL top 30 players. Or you could include players on supplementary lists. It’s for established players. An external draft would cover those who are playing junior football, who have not entered the NRL squads. Ok, thanks. I can't see t...

Drafts are almost exclusively a North American thing. Their obsession with college sports as a pathway to the pros enables it. The minimum wage of players in those sports are akin to the maximum salaries of elite NRL players, that's why it can work. Worldwide less than 1% of pro sports have them in...

Yeah, sorry, not really disagreeing. The ESL is a good place for us to look. You just need to meet the needs of the squad.

Hooker and second row are the big holes we have.

The Badger situation is interesting. She had a poor game in our game vs Titans. This Trai Fuller bloke is dynamite. Wasn’t even in the Dolphins top 30, they had to get permission to use him. He’s carved up every game. Incredible skill for a ‘back up’. He effectively saved us the game with the Foran charge down. He also backed up Strange's break in extra time. He's an effort player. As I said before, I'd like to see Chevy play when our pack is dominating and we're winning the ruck. In the meantime, give him time to develop in reserve grade and ap...

The performance of referees are not immune from criticism, but they should most certainly be protected from dissent on the field. The big issue I have is consistency. When do players get binned? What warrants a send off? When do teams get awarded leniency in the ruck (which happens)? What's the luck...

Fifita to the Panthers in his prime is a significantly worse look for the NRL than Wighton to the Rabbitohs. It will certainly raise more than a few eyebrows. When I look back at the debut ages of some current and recent star fullbacks... it seems generally, you could see elite signs by 19 or 20. The late bloomer cases seem more anomalous. Chevy's 18 but he'll be 20 by mid next year, we should have a good indication by then My only "concern" is...

Maybe if the ACT Government invested money in a world class entertainment precinct in the city centre we would overcome this notion that Canberra is boring and attract more young players to the capital.
