Re: Jordan Rapana vows to retire a Raider

Yeah that was one of the worst games I've seen from Rapa. A number of unforced errors/knock ons, taking out Savage to concede the first try, getting sin binned for unnecessarily taking out JAC, giving away the kicking penalty at the end and risking getting binned again. I hope that was just some rus...

I think people are seeing a potentially better prospect from the same age bracket who is on the market, who covers a number of other positions.

Yeah the Kikau one wasn't a hip drop. If the hip drop definition has been expanded to include landing on your own player (Papalii), then it's a hip drop.

Re: Fullback

Being small is fine if you're like Walsh or Papenhuyzen because they have elite speed and ball-playing to compensate for their lack of size and strength. If you're small and not super fast, you'll want to be very strong and high-effort. Like Blake Taafe.

Yeah we'll be no chance at Talagi lol. He's Roosters material Apparently he's turned down an extension with Parra. If he hits the open market and the Roosters have about 5 billion to spend now, he's definitely Roosters material. Yay. 5 or 7 billion?? 😂😂 Currency language Australian dollars Euro dol...

Talagi was born in the same year as Chevy. He looks more physically mature though It's a high bar to make it as a long term fullback. You simply can't play #1 and be anything but a very strong contributor anymore, if not an elite attacker of the game. Will Kennedy is probably the least dynamic of a...

Some of you folks must be married to the first person you ever met because you don’t do break ups well! Taps game 200 and a one off jersey Roosters should be unbackable favourites Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk We were long odds of winning simply because it's against the Roosters (although Robinson and their squad are frauds apparently). Geez it was nice to get up and beat 2024 Premiership favourites Canterbury Bulldogs. Well a few here people last season had them as the club to go to for a shot at a Premiership this year. Also a few claimed that Raiders should have instead signed Hutchison, Blake Taafe and Connor Tracey. We don’t ...

Anyone else concerned that all these other 18 year old FB's running around the NRL so far this year have looked well and above Chevy. I'm a bit concerned he won't have the impact we are expecting. Happy with another year. He looks fit and having the years away from the game makes him a younger body than others his age. He's a winner and that's valuable. Ideally he doesn't make our 17 next year as we will have other options but I'd rather him as a backup than some other plodder. I’m happy for...

Re: Jordan Rapana vows to retire a Raider

I like the cut of his jib. What’s a jib? A jib is a triangular sail that sets ahead of the foremast of a sailing vessel. The saying ‘I like the cut of his jib’ means ‘I like his attitude.’ The term originated in the sailing navies of the mid-18th century, when the nationality of warships sighted at...

Even in old games Savage wasn’t lacking in effort, just application. He’d get rag dolled a bit and fall off tackles, but he was always trying hard. He’s improved in both areas since 2022.
