I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an announcement soon.
The federal government was pretty quick to find $250m for Hobart to get a new stadium, and they’ve said pretty clearly they’re willing to invest in sports infrastructure nationwide.

I’m half expecting us to announce tomorrow that Sam Williams is coming out of retirement on a three year deal.

Re: Raiders offer Jack Wighton a four year $4.4 million deal
I don’t feel good about this at all.
Hopefully we pull some decent signings out of the bag, but I’m ready for a few very dark years.

I don’t think we’d get him, but if we don’t offer Joey Manu a massive deal then we’re mad.

Savage might make it back into FG on the wing, swapping with Kris towards the end of the game. Get a bit of game time back into the legs.

Young has to be a chance of being in the Blues camp. He’s probably not in line to play at the moment but he’d definitely be in the mix.

To be honest it's quite amazing to think how poor our attacking structure has looked for quite some time now and then see our results the last 4 seasons. 2019 - lost GF 2020 - lost Prelim 2021 - missed 8 2022 - lost Wk 2 of Finals This year is shaping up to a bottom 8 finish unless something change...

Give Chevy Stewart a run. Rather see a kid have a shot than waste anymore games on like Harley two dads. Yeah lets throw our most talented young player in who's probably not even ready for NSW Cup yet so he can get absolutely massacred by the Panthers. Lets see if Tonya Harding's goons are availabl...

It's always good to sign a talented young player, but keep in mind Cyril Connell Challenge is the U16s and this kid looks as though puberty may have hit him earlier and harder than most of the kids he was playing against.

Nothing will happen until the Feds agree to sell AIS land. Sent from my CPH2021 using Tapatalk I don’t think that’s quite right Seiff. 1.Barr wants his legacy to be a multi-line rail network in Canberra. 2.Barr governs with the support of the Greens who are massively pro-public transport. 3.Rail networks are expensive and any spare $250 million or so in the budget will clearly go towards that. 4.Canberra has been moving further to ...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
I just don't understand the argument that more match days per year = new venue if those matchdays are going to draw poor crowds. As a lot of people have said, the A-League starts in summer. It's a stretch to me that enough people to reach the break-even point will head to the stadium on a 35 degree ...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
I mean, lets be honest - an A-League side is pretty easy to ignore. It's not like we've secured an NFL franchise or something that requires a state of the art facility. The A-League has a 7,000 home crowd average this season. The Roar have moved from Suncorp to the 11,000 seat Dolphin Stadium. The G...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
It probably kills any chance of a Dunedin/Christchurch stadium with a clear roof. They're very difficult to cool as they become, well, greenhouses. It'll either need to be open air, retractable or domed. I really wouldn't mind the city exploring the domed option but it would mean the NRL would need ...

Not Mr Gavel’s worst article. I like that he hasn’t just parroted common sentiment but has brought some of his own insights and history to this issue. Money, money, money ... and sport: has the NRL forgotten the hard-learned lessons of Super League? If nothing else, the Super League war highlighted...

I wonder if the league would ever consider allowing artificial turf? Union and soccer now do. Domed stadiums are cheaper to build than ones with retractable roofs. Something like the Paris la defense Arena, built for rugby club Racing 92 could be a fantastic venue for a city like Canberra. Paris La ...

I went to the new SFS for the first time on the weekend.
Wowee, it’s quite the ground to watch footy at. The continual lipsticking of the pig at Bruce hurts all the more knowing what’s out there.
Didn’t love paying $52 for 4 beers though.

So really it is a battle to understand who Ricky’s Matt Allwood of the year will be. I've somewhat come around to the idea of a stadium at EPIC.
It's on the light-rail line and unlike Civic I could see it actually being built one day.
