Re: Mitchell Pearce scandal
Thinking about this in the cold light of day leaves me no more inclined to forgive and forget. What we see in that video is appalling and Pearce is both a club captain and a repeat offender. The NRL cannot let him play this year, at least. And without wanting to start a class warfare debate, before ...

Re: Mitchell Pearce scandal
So, in a two-minute video he manhandled a woman and tried to kiss her even as she was saying no, pi**ed himself and then gave up a team-mate's name when they tried to get him to leave. That's a big couple of minutes and, all-in-all, I'd say dry rooting a dog was the least of his crimes. Hope we've s...

Re: Stuart set to re-sign until 2018
What nonsense - like saying John Howard would voluntarily step down as PM because he loved the Liberal Party so much. There is no point extending Stuart's contract at this point because while he assembled a good-looking squad, we're yet to see the results. I can't imagine there's a long line of CEOs...

Re: 2015 in Review - Frank Paul Nuuausala
Yes, FPN may have only played three or four good games all year but he was MOTM in two if them and we won them both. Had he reproduced that form more regularly then the Raiders would have played finals football. That's what made it all so painful to watch.

My fear is Ricky let Nicholls, Shillington, PAGE, KOD and Lynch go because he believed Tamou or Tolman were certain signings, only to find they changed their mind and Lima became the best of the rest.

Re: Your expectations for 2016
I expect much the same as this year - log jam from about 7-12 on the ladder with final positions coming down to those close results throughout the year. Cowboys, Broncos, Roosters and Bulldogs are close to top-8 certainties and Warriors should be the big improvers with RTS and Isaac Luke on board. I...

Re: Adam Clydsdale signs two year deal with Canberra Raiders
It might be a good signing for the Raiders but it's a very odd signing for Clydesdale. He has already played a bit of FG and I would have thought he'd have a pretty bright future so it's a bit strange for him to sign with a club where the current hooker is going to be playing close to 80 minutes nex...

Re: 2015 NRL Grand Final: Teams and Game Day
Plenty of people are leafy cling let night's GF one of the best in living memory and while it was certainly an enjoyable game to watch, the fairytale finish - and the Cowboys's first premiership - was also important. And that got me thinking about the role of other "regional" cities in som...

Re: 2015 NRL Grand Final: Teams and Game Day
I'm not a big fan of golden point but if every other game throughout the season and finals is decided that way then you can't go changing for the GF. And the idea of playing a replay is just bull#%*t so even if you played extra time first it could still come down to golden point if the scores were s...

Re: 2015 NRL Grand Final: Teams and Game Day
I love Cold Chisel but still think the ultimate NRL campaign would be to throw a king's ransom at AC/DC and build the whole year's advertising around Shook Me All Night Long and Thunderstruck, before getting them to play at the GF. Can you imagine how many cans of JD and Coke they could sell at the ...

Re: NRL 2015 Week 3 Finals *Spoilers *
I didn't care enough to watch tonight's game too closely but I saw enough for two observations: 1. A Roosters loss and Hodges being rubbed out of the GF would be just about the perfect result for me. Here's hoping 2. The Tigers must be wondering where this Adam Blair was for the past few years. Aren...

Opportunities don't come any better than that and we blew it I am afraid. There was no lack of effort, everyone busted a gut trying, but we just made errors at the wrong time. We just never clicked into gear. Really sad way for so many good Raiders players to go out. Thanks so much for the memories...

Re: 2015 Mounties
That sure is a crappy way to lose - two intercept tries and a third off a grubber kick return, not to mention one-from-six goal kicking. The not silver lining I can find, though, is that it's much better to lose that way this week than in the GF next week.
