The rain took away the storms speed and it showed.

A win like that over the Storm is impressive.
It could not have been more a game where talent got removed.
its an impressive win, no question, conditions were the same for each side, and one side prevailed, that's always impressive in those conditions. But weather like that levels the talent disparity like nothing else can.
It's the ultimate equaliser. The dogs could have beaten the Roosters with a hint of luck in those conditions

This could easily happen to us on Sunday night. I’m in the camp of saying that weather like that means the result is a lottery.

The Storm looked pretty ordinary in the second half last weekend. Tipped the Eels for this game, but hard to get a genuine handle on the form of both teams due to the conditions.

Credit to Moses for putting on a kicking clinic, which was the difference.

Geez those last three tackles of the game where the Eels just piled a team mate on the bloke with the ball. Should be a penalty, you just can't do that. It's basically impeding the defensive team from tackling the player or attempting a strip. It's not **** rugby union where you form a ruck to protect the ball.

That being said good win by the Eels.

I think it IS going to happen to us on Sunday and the result of that will ultimately be meaningless for our season
The storm could have lost to the dragons tonight in those conditons, or beaten them by 40

Absolute lottery

A game that has rain teeming down becomes tailor made for the Eels. Then you've got them playing the Storm, who have to rein the biggest strengths they've got at the moment as a result of the inclement weather.

Arthur has got them as dour and very unexpansive, and despite their attacking threats, their overall attack is quite limited. Very much a defence first second and third coach at this point.

How was that not a knock on by the Broncos in the play before the try? They call bigger knock backs knock ons.

Definitely. I like the way the warriors are going about it though.
VERY early days but this warriors team seem really intent on focusing on making sure they're a strong defensive unit first and foremost
I think that's how all the best teams start, getting their defence right

The attack comes later.

As much as I have loved seeing the Broncos fall to pieces in the first two rounds. I can’t fathom the fact that they are the prime time match 5 out of the first 6 rounds.

It will soon get boring.

You take that back! It never gets old!

I can’t believe channel nine are so **** dumb as to keep going back to this well. I guess their hope is to show them as much as possible before their fans fatigue of watching them lose everything again.

Boring is not part of the equation
This is a ratings game and even when the Broncos absolutely suck ****, and i feel obligated to express the levels of **** they suck is at a level that is almost unfathomable.... but it doesnt matter, there is 4 million spanners in QLD who will drive ratings to watch the Broncos suck every friday night

Frankly, i've made peace with it. It's like a Game of Thrones situation where i can set my schedule, pour a drink, get the popcorn ready and just really immerse myself with high level schadenfreude

Broncos fail upwards with a bad pass, bad ball security and a bounce off the post to make it 28-10.

I reckon both Broncos tries have featured what is ruled as a knock on 9 times out of ten.

I love how that thing has panned out for us.
And hate what that club has done to him. I'll never forgive them for it.

Literally turned a generational talent into an average footballer.

Thought that was Ash Taylor’s best game in a while. Tino, Fifita, Thomson and Brimson also very good.

It would be interesting to see the other side of that scenario for us if he signs for 1mil a year would've looked like

Would he have been the player we could've built around, kind of like what Hodgo, Papa, Jack and Soliola have been

Actually I have to give a second wrap to Corey Thomson he was very very good and took hit ups whenever his team looked a bit flat.

Broncos spine were hopeless.
