Re: Coronavirus
When did you turn 60? And why wasn't I invited!!
Re: Coronavirus
This year, invited to what?
This is the concerning thing… they’ve changed it to 60 and over… yet it’s affecting people aged over 60.
“Seven of the 12 new recorded incidents of TTS – of which three are confirmed and nine are deemed “probable” – occurred in people aged 50 to 59. The three confirmed TTS cases were two women, aged 55 and 65, from Victoria and a 53-year-old woman from NSW.
The nine probable TTS cases were found in a man, 54, from Northern Territory, a 65-year-old woman from Tasmania, 50 and 56-year-old men and a 69-year-old woman from Victoria, a woman, 58, from South Australia, 59 and 80-year-old men from Queensland and a woman, 67, from NSW.”

Re: Coronavirus
Your 60th birthday. Surely at the very least we'll do a pub-crawl around Civic, grab a few steaks, head to Mooseheads for some shots and then punch on at the bus exchange (not with each other, obviously)??

Didn’t do anything for it.

Don't worry, we'll go on a pub crawl for it next time I'm down in Canberra. I'll even organise some silly hats.

Re: Coronavirus
The Mrs is getting her 2nd Pfizer jab next week. I had a look at the health advice online and it says the side effects are "more common" after the 2nd jab. Didn't specifically say they were worse. Either way she will be notifying work that she's likely to be off sick the next day. That being a Friday she might tell them she's got side effects whether she does or not.The Nickman wrote: ↑June 21, 2021, 9:30 amDid you get Pfizer? Apparently the second shot is the one which knocks most people around, but you had a pretty rough first one, yeah?

The next week or two I think. I've got my second one in another two weeks, hoping for zero side effects again (apart from the sore arm), but might not be so lucky.Northern Raider wrote: ↑June 21, 2021, 10:53 amWhen is that due?The Nickman wrote: ↑June 21, 2021, 10:51 am My wife got her side effects after the first jab, I'm interested to see if she'll get any with the second.
Re: Coronavirus
I had my 1st Pfizer Sunday week back and I've been pretty crook the last few days. I think it's just really bad timing with catching a cold from my daughter a day after getting the shot. Had headaches the past 3 days and I never get headaches.

Re: Coronavirus
Sadly, it seems that’s not because they plan to offer the choice of a safe vaccine to people 60 and over by then. It’s just because they say that old people who are willing to take AstraZeneca will have taken it by then. They are basically saying to old people take the vaccine that is not safe or be unvaccinated. The one they said was safe for everybody… then not safe for under 50s… then not safe for under 60s…-TW- wrote: ↑June 23, 2021, 10:10 pm Didn't have any issues with this dose at all.

You do have a choice. You can wait for an alternative vax. Nobody is forcing you to get the AZ vax.greeneyed wrote: ↑June 24, 2021, 8:56 amSadly, it seems that’s not because they plan to offer the choice of a safe vaccine to people 60 and over by then. Re: Coronavirus
This one does look genuinely more contagious. More transmission via casual contact. Unlike the "UK variant" which we were told was 70% more contagious yet didn't prove to have any different spread than the original virus. As a community we should definitely be more cautious with this one.

Not sure about names exactly but there are a few in here that claimed to have it all worked out.
Gladys is a gold standard genius; McGowan, Palaszcuk, Dan Andrews are lockdown trigger-happy dictators; and so on and so forth.

As well as anywhere could.Mickey_Raider wrote:Thoughts/comments from our resident epidemiologists about how the gold standard is managing this Sydney outbreak?
Testing numbers have been high, the vast majority of cases have been already in isolation, and all but one or two have had established epidemiological links. That's quite a remarkable effort.
But overnight they have detected a number of new cases that have not been in isolation and have been infectious in the community. They feel that their capacity to contact trace and get ahead of transmission has been exceeded, and so they are locking down.
Disappointingly, there seem to be a bunch of Victorians and Labor Fanbois gleeful that millions of people will be forced to stay at home for the next two weeks.

Re: Coronavirus
I am certainly not gleeful about being locked down. I would also be disappointed if people were relishing that fact.
But if you were the VIC, QLD, WA or even the SA government and had spent the last 6 months copping self-righteous and condescending lectures from the likes of Gladys and vast sections of the media about lockdowns I really don't see how you wouldn't be raising your eyebrows at the hypocrisy.

Re: Coronavirus
That's not true though is it.
Only 12 of the 29 new cases today were in isolation during the infectious period. The virus has jumped the gate.
