You can see from these graphs that for delta there was a very clear and lineal progression of hospitalisations compared with cases. As with other countries with higher vaccination rates, there appears to be a clear and definitive decoupling of these trends with this wave. So while Hospitalisation rates are clearly growing, it needs a different perspective to case numbers than we have been used to.

https://amp.theguardian.com/news/databl ... of-omicron
A couple of points:
* It is wrong to say we’re seeing decoupling. If anything what you see is a reduction in the scaling factor. More cases still means more hospitalisations, just the % will be lower if the vaccines are offering protection and/or the virus is milder.

* It is too early to claim these graphs as conclusively representing a lower %. The article rightly points out hospitalisations tend to lag by ~2 weeks in reporting. 2 weeks ago there was 500 cases per day. An order of magnitude lower.

I’m not saying the sky is definitely falling, and we’re screwed. But it is certainly too early to be confident that hospitalisations won’t increase dramatically and claiming a victory.

I expect hospitalisations to still grow significantly, and given our case numbers are up an order of magnitude in the last fortnight I’m inclined to expect it will go to over 5k hospitalised nationally in a few weeks.
Believe as of yesterday there were 5238 in hospital nationally.

That’s how you anticipate this **** ScoMo…

Imagine if you people were told at the start of the jab roll-out that once you get two jabs you will still need to wear a mask, get more jabs, and cases were going to go up 500-1000%. LMAO

Umm, yeah, but...Omicron.

Wait till the next variant, normies.
I will tell you what I have been saying to people I know since the start of all this:

It will NEVER end.

Haha, I know right!! It’s just like that time I did my driving test, got a licence that said I could drive, and was then told that I had to wear a seatbelt, drive to particular speed limits, give way to traffic and all that… all so I could protect myself and those around me!!! What a joke!

Not only that. Apparently I have to keep getting new tyres and brakes serviced. I mean why do I have air bags if I still have to do those things?

I love how every holidays the news reports on the holiday death toll on our roads…. Most of those people that died were wearing seatbelts!!! What’s the point if people keep dying anyway? It obviously doesn’t work.

Comparing a car and it's service to being jabbed every three months with an experimental liquid that was made in less than a year with ZERO long term studies..very clever.

Greg Hunt:
"The world is engaged in the largest clinical trial, the largest global vaccination trial ever, and we will have enormous amounts of data."

If that is your mind set then you do realise jabbed people can still spread and get the virus.

I have a 99.97%survival rate from the virus and a 100% survival rate from the jab.
I like those odds.

And you don’t think lockdowns had any effect on things like road fatalities? You don’t think restricted movement and hygiene practices had any effect on other communicable diseases? You don’t think things like non essential work shutdowns had any effect in thing like workplace fatalities? You can’t just cherry pick stats. Given the level of global reaction in the way of lockdowns and restrictions, and STILL 5 million people have died, can you imagine what that figure would be if we didn’t try to restrict it? What would
An acceptable fatality rate be? Your .03% mortality rate globally is 23.5 million people, or nearly the entirety of the Australian population. Is that ok?

And you still haven’t given us a reason for the hoax in the first place… why has every country in the world agreed to perpetuate a hoax, and crush their economies?

Just got my booster today and had a bit of fun with it :woot:

Managed to dodge the covid so far, but yes it's definitely all a hoax and 5% of Unvaccinated people taking up 50% of ICU beds in Vic just show we've definitely all been had and the antivaxers claiming their j!zz in a jar is the next bitcoin will definitely all prove us wrong!
