Favourite podcasts?
I've been listening to a lot of podcasts using the Podcast Republic app to kill time at work. I'm interested to know what people's favourites podcasts are? And your favourite apps for them?
I love the Criminal and Serial podcasts. Listening to season 1 of Serial now, it is just fascinating.

The Dollop. I'm mad for it. American History with lots of swearing and laughs.

I'm subscribed to about 15 different pods
Mostly sports pods

There's a previous thread along these lines. I'm subscribed to a stack too. Listen when I'm driving, running and at the gym. Stuff You Should Know, Freakanomics, Sawbones, a bunch of work related ones.
Re: Favourite podcasts?
G'Day patriots is an podcast about the US elections recorded in Canberra.
Also recently discovered "Adelaide Jerks".. Have a look at what some of their episodes are about and you'll either dive right in or be scarred for life..
An episode I can talk about which wouldn't get edited would be them doing audio commentary on episodes of Skippy.

You can keep your G'day Patriots, but Adelaide Jerks has got my attention

Listen to 'A Sporting Discussion', it's brilliant.*
*I may be co host of this podcast. But that doesn't cost it any brilliance. Love to know what people reckon. Last episode we talked to Tim Gore about origin.

Ive heard good reviews about Serial podcast.. but havent gotten around to checking it out yet.
I listen to Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman for a lot of pop culture news and banter (some people like his chatter, some can't stand him, so YMMV).
If you like movie trivia, can check out Doug Benson's Doug Loves Movies podcast

It's a really well done podcast that follows a single story over a season.

Not a podcast but this youtube channel is excellent at covering history:
https://www.youtube.com/user/crashcourse/videos
Their videos on the middle east and different religions are particularly good because they are accurate and impartial.

For Anyone into Horse Racing.... The Stable.... I thought it was a brilliant series. Expected it to be 1 big commercial, but that wasn’t the case. Very informative and insightful

Re: Favourite podcasts?
I’m late to the podcast world... Recently I was introduced to podcasts through a mate who recommended ‘The Howie Games’
Mark Howard interviews a variety of sporting people. Interviews vary from 30 mins to 90 mins.
Very Good.
Anyone got other sporting recommendations?

Canadian trio that retrospectively review a lot of movies from the 90s, so a good mix of what you grew up with if you are in your 30s.
