2016 season cant come quick enough.
Watching Hodgson and Whitehead in the tests will satisfy some of the rugby league hunger
Id like our squad to be finalised soon too

Canberra Raiders first NRL team to begin 2016 pre-season
JUST after 9am on Monday the NRL trophy will continue on its celebration tour around north Queensland, stopping at the tiny town of Mareeba, near Cairns.
At the same time, 2066km away, the Canberra Raiders return to training for next season.
It is truly extraordinary these two events overlap — mind you, Canberra players have had seven weeks off.

Boyd for me
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.
If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

There is no doubt they will get flogged in the off season by Ricky ,and I think they may even get off to a flyer at the start of the season. But when will they suffer burn out is the big question and how they back off training to freshen them up, that's the challenge for Ricky because he is known for smashing his squads.

Raiders hoping for later start next time around
Raiders hoping for later start next time around ahead of 2016 pre season
IT was the story which has inspired the Canberra Raiders.
The Daily Telegraph on Monday revealed how Canberra was the first NRL team back to training for 2016 while North Queensland continue their grand final celebrations from 2015. It is amazing to think these two events overlap.
Raiders players saw our story and know the solution is simple — if they reach the finals, they will return to off-season training a lot later.

Cowboys' premiership gives Canberra Raiders perspective
As the Canberra Raiders dusted off their boots for pre-season training on Monday, reigning premiers North Queensland were continuing their regional premiership trophy tour in Mareeba, one hour west of Cairns.
If that wasn't motivation enough in wanting to bring success to the nation's capital in 2016, then perhaps being the first team to commence pre-season training could do the trick.

I really hope we skip the beard pledges this year..... and instead opt to forgo bathing until our first loss, works much better. Makes the Poms feel more at home and helps extend the winning streak the longer it goes on for.
Re: Canberra Raiders season 2016 starts Monday
Sammy has a great attitude, I like him. He's not first choice and I'm sure he knows it, but hopefully it keeps our halves on their toes even more. He's a very good backup to have.

I'm more excited by the Boyd extending article. But yes, BJ looks fit.
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Canberra Raiders impressed with initial testing for 2016 pre-season
The Canberra Raiders returned to Raiders HQ on Monday for initial testing ahead of their 2016 pre-season campaign, with the clubs physical performance department impressed with the results of the rigorous testing completed in the first two days.
Raiders Head of Physical performance Nigel Ashley-Jones said expectations had been set high for the players this year, but they’ve exceeded these expectations to deliver the best results the club has seen in his tenure.
“Each year we’ve returned for pre-season training we’ve noticed a small improvement in the players physical condition as they return from their break, but this year we’ve been blown away by the results of the players on their return,” Ashley-Jones said. “From the second they walked into Raiders HQ on Monday morning they were focussed on the tasks we have given them and the results speak volumes for the amount of effort they’ve put in to making sure they’ve been diligent in their time away from the club.”
Players were given strict targets to hit in terms of body composition, fitness levels and strength targets with results showing the playing group looks committed and focussed on a pre-season to best prepare them for a strong 2016 season.
Ashley-Jones said he’s extremely impressed by the way in which the playing group has responded to the challenge and said he has noticed a continuation of the positive values installed into the players over the past two seasons.
“The competiveness and attitude of the players is exactly what we’ve wanted to kick things off for what will be a gruelling pre-season campaign,” he said. “The best part of this is the way in which the players have responded to our targets and the way in which they have shown they want to work hard to achieve the goals we set.
“Contrary to some media reports I saw today we don’t make excuses at this club and I’ve never heard Ricky Stuart make any. We definitely won’t be starting to now.”
“Our physical performance team is excited about the first few weeks of the pre-season and we’re looking to continue the good work the players have started. We know by looking at the results they will be determined and ready for what we challenge them with over the next few months.”
The Raiders full squad will now return for the commencement of pre-season training on Monday November 9.
