Great episode boys. Be interested to hear your thoughts on the roosters top 4 aspirations in the next episode after tonight's efforts. Opens another spot for us I think.

I'm glad I'm not the only 1 that noticed Seb was having some issues. Sometimes things like that get lost in the game day melee.
Also agree RE hodgson and we saw it play out exactly that way against the panthers.
It's fine to keep popping it to the halves if they straighten and earn that space but our halves weren't straightening it up in that second half. The panthers halves on the other hand played very direct when they needed to.

Raiders Review with Blake and The Pork

Post by gangrenous »

Yo Pork, why so confident of adding a back to the bench when it didn’t happen last week after the comment?

Plus chin up fella, it ain’t all bad. Yet. Soon maybe...

Also agree with Blake that I’m not sure the defence only approach survives the 6 again era. You can still be defence focussed, but your defensive strategy needs to adapt to face the new attack situation and strategy.

Really love this podcast....definitely the best Raiders podcast by a country mile, I never miss an episode.

But lads, no offence....I don't think anyone enjoys the whole fake Sharkey / podcast fued except for the people who host the two podcasts.

55 minutes Leads with sticking the boot into The Greenhouse and not a mention of a premiership the club won this week. Not happy Jan.

Apologies if it came across that way GE.
It was an opinion piece.

I should also point out that

The views of John Sharkey III, Lord Funkington and Danny Stuart are entirely their own and do not reflect the official policy or position of
Raiders Review with Blake and The Pork.

Mea Culpa GE. It’s my fault we forgot the SG Ball victory. I didn’t think we were sticking the boot in, just trying to have a laugh. Apologies if it came over as a bagging. That’s Blake’s fault of course...

Raiders Review with Blake and The Pork

Post by gangrenous »

Your threat to do a cover of Hey Mickey reminded me of my GreenHouse version from 2018. There’s a couple of issues that remain 3 years later. Most obviously dropping Papalii to solve problems, and the use of the interchange! Appropriately we are playing three halves again this week too.

On the flip side, we know what’s wrong with Garvey now... So I’ll chalk that one up as a point for Sticky.

Oh and Papalii correcting the pronunciation of his name has really **** my haiku. Ah well, T_R would pat me on the back and say “don’t worry gangers, you can’t ruin something that was **** to begin with”.

Haikus with Gangers: Bonus Toni Basil Song - Hey Ricky!
Oh Ricky, you're so blind
You're so blind, I’ve lost my mind, hey Ricky,
Hey Ricky
Oh Ricky, you're so blind
You're so blind, I’ve lost my mind, hey Ricky,
Hey Ricky

You've been around 5 years and that's a little long
You think you've got it right but I think you've got it wrong
Why has it come to gangers being nasty in a song, Ricky?

'Cause you think that three halves, is gonna make a whole
But that’s the trick with homophones they only make a hole
Every loss is one more loss closer to the dole, Ricky!

Oh Ricky, what a pity we can’t have nice things
I think you’re a top bloke, and deserve more premiership rings
Oh Ricky, what a pity, can't you find some wins?
We’re oh and four Ricky
Oh, what will you do Ricky? Do Ricky?
Not just Papalii Ricky!
Hey Ricky!

Now the odds are stacked against us, everybody knows
We don’t get all the leg-ups like the ****ing Broncos
But there’s some things we can do, so don't say no, Ricky!

So come on and give it to them any way you can
Drop truth bombs in the pressers, treat them like a man
I mean these guys are earning min a hundred grand, Ricky!

Oh Ricky, what a pity we can’t have nice things
You do great work for charity, love the passion that you bring
Oh Ricky, what a pity, can't you find some wins?
We’re oh and four Ricky
Oh, what will you do Ricky? Do Ricky?
What’s wrong with Garvey Ricky?

But some mistakes you keep making over and again
You use the interchange like there’s only 15 men?
Just a single trial? Where is your acumen Ricky?

You assembled a skilled team, but boy how long it’s been
Since the highs of semi-finals in twenty-sixteen
We all want to get back there, we know you bleed green Ricky!

Oh Ricky, what a pity we can’t have nice things
You need to change your strategies, and that’s why gangers sings
Oh Ricky, what a pity, can't you find some wins?
We’re oh and four Ricky
Oh, what will you do Ricky? Do Ricky?
Get the projector Ricky!?
Hey Ricky!

The “We’ve hit rock bottom” episode of a month ago hasn’t aged well.

Cheers for the laughs. Haven’t quite finished yet, but it was great to have a giggle at the ridiculous predicament!

Poor Pork is deluded about Hodgson. He’s pretty clearly goneski. Pick someone new to centre your rebuild on.

You made it sound like the dead ball interpretation was a new thing in the last week or two, but it’s been like that for ages hasn’t it? Pork definitely correct that Simmo was in touch, but that’s still counted as taking it dead. It’s different on kickoffs and sideline if the ball is still in motion.
