Curtis Scott police assault charges dropped after court rules arrest 'unlawful'

Post by greeneyed »

Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

Canberra Raiders’ star recruit Curtis Scott was arrested on Sunday, locked up in Sydney overnight following an incident with police after a boozy Australia Day. He is facing charges of resisting arrest after being approached by police in the Moore Park area. The club is yet to inform the NRL integrity unit.

He also had drama on Saturday night at the Clovelly Hotel where he was searched on the footpath outside the premises in a random police drug check. He was found to have had nothing in his possession, according to his manager Sam Ayoub.

Said it in his other thread but I’ll say it again here. If it’s anything more than a misdemeanour then we should release him straight away. We owe him nothing and we don’t want to be involved in this sort of **** again.

Timing sucks with Joey and all but it is what it is.

He deserves the benefit of the doubt until all the details come out but I hope the club makes the right decision based on evidence.

Well, I said before Melbourne are pretty good at holding on to whoever they want to keep - they let this guy go even when he had more time left on his contract. It is a bit of a worry.

Now..

There must have been a reason the fuzz wanted to arrest him right ? They don't make random arrests on citizens because they're bored. So CScott has resisted police attempts to arrest him..

This is bad.

He's not the messiah..he's a very naughty boy..

It’s not a drama but coppers don’t search people for drugs randomly.

The Roosters and Storm don't tend to let individuals go (RTS aside) unless they have their reasons.

And the worse part is yet to come.

They'll be an investigation by the club and if CScott is found guilty of anything minor or major he will unfortunately have to be punished. What that means who knows..

But whatever we do as a club won't be enough because Greenbog and his henchmen we triple it...

We just don't need this. He's new to our club. By all reports he's been training fine and slotted in very well. He has a starting centre spot basically promised to him. He's yet to lace on his boots and wear the proud jersey...I can't believe this is. He may have done absolutely nothing and I'm praying this is the case.

Just don't need this..

When I saw the pictures of them all heading to Sydney on Instagram the other day my first thought was ‘this is a recipe for trouble’

And so it was.

Hopefully it’s minor

You are spot on, maybe he's done nothing wrong.

But an elite NRL player, presumably drunk, resisting arrest will make the news..

Inocent until proven guilty of course.

But why..tell me WHY THESE YOUNG MEN CONTINUE TO PUT THEMSELVES IN THESE SITUATIONS!!!

Absolute crazy..they never learn.

Tasered

Kicking and punching a police officer.

He won’t wear a green jersey. He’ll be a Rooster by seasons end.

I suspect we'll keep him and give him the Wighton contract treatment, assuming he stays out of the big-house.

I’m not going to judge the bloke publicly because even though I didn’t get arrested there is no way his long weekend was looser than mine.

Looks like this is pretty obviously the reason he was punted by Melbourne though. Now we’ve significantly downgraded a player (but probably not cap wise) and ended up with the downgrade with off field issues.

Edit: haha hadn’t read the further update.
