If we had Bateman and CHN, all of a sudden our forward pack looks very very strong

I think that was because he got the shot.Ilanraiders wrote: ↑July 22, 2020, 2:53 pmAFB got cleared to play in qld this week-end, hopefully papa, taps and hopefully CHN are also cleared!!

I'm not sure of the rules for someone entering "the bubble". As he was de-registered he's been out of it. 2 week quarantine?
I'm not so sure he'll come. He has mates at the Dogs who want him back. He's settled in Sydney (moving during covid would seem a real pain). He has a good relationship with Barrett who will be working to keep him.
He's probably seen 3 Cantebury boards come and go.
We need a boost like that in the forwards though.

He'd need some time on the training paddock first too, if we got him today, i wouldnt expect to see him in FG for another 2 weeks at least
Probably ease him back in off the bench
Im irrationally confident he'll be a Raider by this time next week.

So, you're basically telling me you've got nothing?GMGT wrote: ↑July 22, 2020, 2:38 pmFunny how you say this whilst having a crack at me, when you have no clue if he's coming or not. Put your money when your mouth is, champSeiffert82 wrote: ↑July 22, 2020, 12:55 pm So, GMGT, the real question is...are we getting CHN or not? Your insight on the matter is very important to me.
You like having cracks at other posters for their contribution. It's time for you to put your money where your mouth is.
Are we signing CHN?

Corey Harawira-Naera out of the Doghouse and set to join Canberra Raiders
The Canterbury Bulldogs have released want-away forward Corey Harawira-Naera with the New Zealand international set to join the Canberra Raiders on a two-and-a-half-year deal. It's hoped he could be in the capital as soon as Friday to begin his life in lime green.

Really happy with this, think he'll be a good long term replacement for JB.
Keen to see what sort of money we've shelled out for it

He is the best international second rower currently willing to transfer mid season to solve our injury crisis that money could buy.
Test status in pretty strong Test pack (an area NZ have some depth) suggests he can play. Doggies fans are completely "meh" about potentially losing Elliot but up in arms about losing this player even though they sacked him...
I'd say he can play. He won't be JB but when fit he's more of a handful than Young in attack certainly from the couple of games I've seen.

Enjoy lads. Given the lack of talent off contract to replace JB for next year, it’s a good result for the club.

WOn't lie and say I know all that much about CHN.
But one thing I've learnt is that when an average player leaves a club, it isn't usually met with an emotional reaction, more shrugs and lukewarm well wishes.
So judging by the fury and salt flying around at the Kennel, is it fair to say we have ourselves a player here?

Polkinghorne reporting that he can play against the cowboys next week but not against the bulldogs - part of the agreement.

Good pickup. Just in time too. I suspect the remainder of his 2020 contract will be largely covered by the Bateman cap compensation.
We really needed some depth. Hope he's good to go as early as next round!
Well done to all involved.
