Can CHN play against the dogs? Maybe O’Donnell in for him. We need to give Sam Williams or Frawley a run, in case one of our halves do go down leading into the finals (hopefully not!!)

No, there was some sort of clause in which CHN/Raiders agreed to stand him down for this match, so he is unavailable. he's spoken about it previously.Ilanraiders wrote: ↑August 22, 2020, 7:16 pm Can CHN play against the dogs? I'm not sure we give any backup halves a run, unless off the bench. We keep our foot to the floor and aim for that top 4 whilst it is still in our hands to beat the Roosters.

Given how clunky we still look in attack, we would be crazy to play second string halves.

Corey wont play against the dogs, but im a little worried about his shoulder charge, im happy for Odonnel to come in. Since Cotric has signed with dogs he has been on fire, also I gotta say Curtis Scott has improved heaps since returning.

I don’t reckon Corey will play against the dogs. TBH, Im a bit worried about his shoulder charge, but I’d be happy for O’Donnell to come in.
Has anyone else thought Cotric has been on fire since he signed with Dogs? I also have to say Curtis Scott has improved heaps since returning.

Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
GE is correct, CHN cannot play against the Dogs this year. I think Zim has the 17 right although after the Titans match there may be some shuffling of starting positions in the pack. I just want to see us re-learn how to gang tackle and drive the opposition backwards with aggressive defensive play. It has gone missing from our game and its essential we get it back.
Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
Perfect game for guler or sia to return
Dont delete this GE

Did sticky say cotric would miss a week?
Valamei a chance to return or HSS more likely?

Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
If Cotric isn't 100% I'd give him a week off if HSS or Valamei are fit. Cotric will be trying harder than usual this week against his new team, I'd rather he be 100% for the Roosters as we'll definitely need him firing in that game.
Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
So far he's always gone for Semi on the wing when available. I'd guess he'd stick with that but I'm more keen to get a look at HSS now.

Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papalii clear to play Bulldogs
Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papalii will be clear to play the Bulldogs on Sunday, but is facing a fine after being issued a grade one high tackle (careless) charge. With an early plea, he would pay a fine of $550. Corey Harawira-Naera was not charged after being penalised for a shoulder charge in the clash with the Titans.
Titans prop Moeaki Fotuaika is facing a 1-2 week ban after being charged with a crusher tackle on Jarrod Croker. He would miss a week with an early plea.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.
Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
I’d be fighting the Papalli charge. I’ve seen heaps worse not get charged and we don’t want the hangover impacts of the tackle coming into the finals.
Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
If he pays the fine, it doesn't carry points (as I understand it).
Careless high tackle Grade 1 $1500 or 100 points.

I take it back. I don’t want a penalty! GE didn’t intentionally double entendre, I forced words in his mouth and he probably feared for his life

I think Papalii should just pay the fine but it is embarrassing that he has been charged to be honest.

It’s not the points but the repeat offences I’d be concerned about.greeneyed wrote:If he pays the fine, it doesn't carry points (as I understand it).

I presume that can add to the points of a similar charge later in the season.

Pretty scary that there's a side ranked behind the broncos on the competition ladder at the moment.
Re: 2020 Rd 16 V Bulldogs: Teams and Previews
Got excited there for a bit, thinking that the Dogs might win and send the Broncos into 16th. They disappoint every week. Let’s hope it’s not next week that that changes.

Canberra Raiders hoping for bigger Canberra Stadium crowds
The Canberra Raiders have started discussions with the ACT government to increase crowd capacity for Canberra Stadium.
"The Raiders haven't had any direct discussions with the chief health officer of the ACT to try to enable more people to attend Raiders games by the end of the regular season, but the venue has on our behalf. And we're hopeful we can secure a home final and have a reasonable crowd," Jason Mathie said.

Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papalii is the 'fastest middle in Queensland'
It's akin to being the fastest draw in the west. Josh Papalii is the fastest middle in Queensland.
"He's not shut up about it to be honest. He's only been saying he's the fastest middle in Queensland at the minute," Ryan Sutton said with a laugh. "That's just a true credit to the player 'Paps' is. He has a no-die attitude.

Canberra Raiders have versatility card up forward pack's sleeves
It's a forward pack whose versatility is becoming a weapon. No matter who starts they're confident they can get the job done.
"We've got that versatility. We've said it before, whoever starts are more than capable of starting. That's the good thing that's in our side," Ryan Sutton said.

Bulldogs are dreadful, i watch them every week (siblings fav team) and they just suck, poor last tackle options, shocking backs, fat fowards, but again I hope raiders dont play lightly, they gotta thrash em.
