Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
Apparently we have signed Elijah Anderson from the Cowboys, 21yo winger with comparisons to Inglis.
Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
The Raiders believe a 21-year-old winger from Rockhampton, Elijah Anderson could prove the successor to Nick Cotric in the backline next season.
"I don't want to put too much of a rap on him so early but Elijah is a long-striding, lanky speedster who looks like Greg Inglis when he was a kid," Peter Mulholland said. "Nick's boots will be big to fill but we are excited about this kid and he has a lot of potential."

"We've got kids like Elijah Anderson on a train and trial, Seb Kris has come back on a train and trial. There's opportunities for those to come up into that top 30 if we need it as well."
Queenslander Anderson joined the club on a two-year deal earlier this month.

That story was 21 October. Bit confusing. Presumably the two year deal isn’t a top 30 spot.

Thanks GE
Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
I think it's wise not to put a lot of pressure on a 21 year old outside back who has yet to make his debut... particularly in the outside backs, if you're good, you're at least a year or two into a FG career by 21. But im hoping for the best. We desperately need someone who fits that tall, fast, dynamic mould

I feel like we are dipping our toes in the young outside back market a couple of years late, but if it comes off great.

Speaks well. Better interview than Cotric gave the dogs yesterday.

Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
He played for the Capras, not the Cutters
Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
Not necessarily. Who knows he may have debuted this year but for covid.Botman wrote: ↑November 24, 2020, 7:28 am I think it's wise not to put a lot of pressure on a 21 year old outside back who has yet to make his debut... particularly in the outside backs, if you're good, you're at least a year or two into a FG career by 21. Plenty of good wingers debut at 20/21. Tupou, Mansour, Ado-Car... etc.

Exactly. In 2003 we had a 27 year old outside back make his debut and he won rookie of the year!

Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
And if there was a greatest ever Raiders Italian team, he'd be vice captain.
Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
Yeah fair counters, feels like that's becoming less of a thing now days though. Still as i said, fingers crossed for this kid. He's the body type and style of player we are in desperate need forBadnMean wrote: ↑November 24, 2020, 9:10 amNot necessarily. Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
Well he looks like GI so I'm just going to assume he's going to go at least as good as all those GI's cousins/SBW's cousins etc I heard got snapped up back in the day and never heard of again. He shall be glorious.Botman wrote: ↑November 24, 2020, 11:00 amYeah fair counters, feels like that's becoming less of a thing now days though. Still as i said, fingers crossed for this kid. Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
Nick’s just looking forward to getting out there with the boys in case anyone missed the interview. He really drove the point home too. Made sure we were aware of the fact.casta66 wrote: ↑November 24, 2020, 8:33 am https://www.facebook.com/7NEWSCQ/videos ... 162217960/

Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
How can Anderson be on a train and trial AND have signed a 2 year contract? What GE has written is correctly quoting Mulholland from the article but it doesn’t make sense.
Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
This article even has a DARREN "FRITZY" FRITZ reference. This guy is gonna be my new favourite.Neeeegz wrote: ↑November 24, 2020, 6:40 am Apparently we have signed Elijah Anderson from the Cowboys, 21yo winger with comparisons to Inglis.

It also says he'll be playing with Mounties... Can I assume that's just Rural Qld Ch7 having no clue?

Re: Raiders signing an Inglis lookalike
yeah in 2019 he played 13 games for the Capras - for 12 losses and 1 draw. He played Round 1 2020 for the Cutters and they went down 22-23.
He might be keen for a win - been a long time between drinks.
