Ricky Stuart made Member of the Order of Australia in Queen's Birthday Honours



Canberra Raiders legendary half and coach Ricky Stuart has been made a Member of the Order of Australia for “significant service to rugby league, and to the community”.

"I'm very, very humbled by it and proud. I don't have my foundation and do these things for any recognition outside doing a good job," Stuart said. "It's been a marvellous surprise, but more importantly it's something I'm so humbled by.

Well deserved for everything he has done, odd this announcement came so long after Australia day.

Glenn Lazarus awarded Medal of the Order of Australia

Glenn Lazarus became known - and perhaps feared - as "the Brick with Eyes". He now becomes the Brick with Eyes OAM for his services to rugby league.

"I didn't [mind being called it], as long as it was the Brick with Eyes and not the other word that starts with 'P'," he laughed. "I always said you could be called a lot worse."

The "Brick with Pies" is a banging nickname, and suited him nicely really
No idea why he was worried about that.

Great player, probably the best prop in the last 30 years. Premierships with three sides says it all.
