Even though we are no chance of winning the premiership I would still like to be in the finals.
Perhaps the last two years have spoilt us.
Making the 8 would not cover the cracks of a busted team, and changes will still take place. Just want "that" finals feeling in such a dour year.

$4 to make the 8.

Agree we are no chance of winning the premiership, but was thinking the other day how strange it would feel if we did scape in the 8 and put a few wins together. Clearly it would be amazing to win another, but it would be an awesome happy ending on what otherwise has been an entirely terrible year to be a raiders supporter. In years to come when people ask what the 2021 premiership season was like it would be a very hard one to explain. A miserable season from hell that ended on the highest of high notes.1992 wrote: ↑July 12, 2021, 6:16 pm Even though we are no chance of winning the premiership I would still like to be in the finals.

Don't know what it is about our home form, but for a VERY long time we've played much better away than at home...maybe back to 2015.

Difficulty of the draw depends on how team deal with the relocation. About the only games I'd write off are Melbourne and Manly (assuming Turbo plays). Wins are quite possible against Sharks, Knights, Dragons, Warriors and Roosters. Eels depends on which Eels team shows up.-PJ- wrote: ↑July 13, 2021, 8:20 amYep, we have well and truely crapped in our own nest..Roger Kenworthy wrote: ↑July 13, 2021, 8:12 amWe've got a very tough draw coming home. I hope we don’t do the Viking Clap at these Queensland games. It would likely cheapen the value of our best public marketing tool.

It used to be a reliable guide to back Victorian horses moving up for the QLD carnival.Id put Canberra as a good place to leave over winter for warmer conditions.Seiffert82 wrote: ↑July 13, 2021, 7:23 amYeah, I was just thinking that this QLD bubble thing was just what the doctor ordered for our club.mick63 wrote: ↑July 12, 2021, 7:26 pmRaiders are 21-9 over the last two and a half years playing away and1992 wrote: ↑July 12, 2021, 6:16 pm Even though we are no chance of winning the premiership I would still like to be in the finals.

It’s really on Rick to get the balance right.
Bring Starling on at the 20,of he doesn’t start.Hodgson to link/lock.
But the big call for mine is to bring Timoko to right centre,Kris to left centre.
Croker has been playing injured maybe, without confidence definitely and should have been bought back via reggies.
Leaving out Timoko is a wretched call and inhibits his progress.
This idea of doubling down on the mistake of Crokers four year deal with him starting is one of Ricks most pig headed plays.

We seem to have mental block against the Eels these days. It's so annoying when they have Moses and "King" Gutho strutting round like they're Sterlo and Kenny.Northern Raider wrote: ↑July 13, 2021, 9:52 amDifficulty of the draw depends on how team deal with the relocation. Yeah, I'd pencil it in as a loss. Although the Eels can put in some real stinkers. They've hardly left Sydney for the last 18 months so we'll see how the relocation affects them.Roger Kenworthy wrote: ↑July 13, 2021, 12:18 pmWe seem to have mental block against the Eels these days. If I see Moses do that sway one more time when he's kicking for goal, I will personally drive up to QLD, smash through any border barricades, and slap him silly.

I must have missed something. How did Sione Katoa not get charged for his shot on Sironen? I assume the crackdown is officially over now.

Very rough on Matt Frawley after an extremely controlled game.

Here's hoping Xavier can get into the clear this week. Likely to be off a Hodgo pass or via some support play. I just want to see him slice through against an NRL defence. I expect the usual Shark grub plays against the young fella but that is all part of the learning experience.

Sammy and Frawly- not sure there's that much difference between the two.
Croker v Ramien could be interesting. He'll have done pretty well if he keeps him quiet.

Hand Matt Frawley a Taumalolo contract, the captaincy, Dally M, Clive Churchill, and Nobel prize after that three FDO, two seven tackle set performance which carried us to victory.

Calm down, alphabet. I don't think anyone is saying that Frawley's that good - just that he's better than Sammy, esp. defensively. Everyone knows Frawley's limitations but he's the best option in this situation.

The spot is Crokers to lose, he's earned that, and could have quite possibly lost it had he not been injured. If he keeps going the way he is he will lose it eventually
I can see kris bring dropped before him at the moment though

I dont wish for us to make the finals by fielding a side that isnt developing. Thats my opinion.1992 wrote: ↑July 12, 2021, 6:16 pm Even though we are no chance of winning the premiership I would still like to be in the finals.
Perhaps the last two years have spoilt us.
Making the 8 would not cover the cracks of a busted team, and changes will still take place. Just want "that" finals feeling in such a dour year.
Id rather put players in that are going to get experience.. in a measured and controlled environment with no expectations.
We need to get back to being a premiership force ASAP. Thats the reason we sacked Furner as coach.

Forget about it. You cant meaningfully engage with anyone pulling out that sort of nonsense.Hong Kong Raider wrote: ↑July 13, 2021, 6:14 pmCalm down, alphabet. I'd have had Frawley and Timoko in the side but the simple reality is Williams and Croker are two of Stuarts very favourites. They're not going anywhere this season, irrespective of their level of play.

I fully expect Shaun Johnson to blitz us and then during a post game interview make some sort of comment about how much of a **** hole Canberra is and how happy he is to play the game on the Gold Coast. And everybody will lose their minds.

Very rough on Matt Frawley after an extremely controlled game.
Five and a halfed (yes, I know that's not a word). Okay with Sam at halfback. Unhappy Timoko isn't getting a start.
It's the entertainment business. I'd be interested in tuning in with Timoko in the centres. With the other blokes, not so much.

Our style of play is mind-numbingly dull (and most weeks sees us get smashed). Yet Rick keeps turning out the same spuds?
Zero interest in watching Croker making 1m hitups and failing to lay a hand on Ramien all day - he has to go
