Canberra Raiders relocated to Gold Coast due to COVID
Fox sports reporting NRL having a crisis meeting tomorrow to decide if they move all teams to a hub.
Would mean no more games at Canberra Stadium

Re: All teams possibly moving- announcement tomorrow
I’m all for this. Massive complacency at the moment and people need to start to taking this seriously. We have done so bloody well as a country and there is a finish line in sight but I really fear things are going to get very ugly very quickly if we don’t get serious. I’m not opposed to the NRL taking a hiatus for a few weeks if it makes people realise this is real and needs to be treated as such.

Re: All teams possibly moving- announcement tomorrow
With all due respect as someone living in Sydney there is no complacency, thus the high testing numbers and high vaccination rates.
People are following the rules but people are frustrated because we have had to carry the country in terms of quarantine and air cargo ( and their crew,) coming in.
The season will not stop, vlandys and co will ensure it finishes on time

Queanbeyan being a hub with NRL games will guarantee KW wins the mayoral election.

You are only seeing what the media want you to see unless you are actually here.
Don't worry I intend to stay safe and continue to follow the health rules

Yes… we’re frustrated at the quarantines and air cargo, and not those from the Eastern Suburbs constantly flaunting the rules.cat wrote:With all due respect as someone living in Sydney there is no complacency, thus the high testing numbers and high vaccination rates.

Or that enforcement was lax until suburbs in the west started getting cases.
Nope, it’s quarantine

NRL considers moving all 16 teams to southeast Queensland as early as Round 18
NRL meeting this afternoon to decide.
NRL considers moving all 16 teams to southeast Queensland as early as Round 18
The NRL will consider relocating the entire competition to Queensland after State of Origin III was switched to the Gold Coast on Saturday night due to NSW’s latest Covid outbreak.
The Daily Telegraph reported State of Origin’s relocation could foreshadow the NRL moving all 16 clubs to Queensland, with Peter V’landys confirming the ARLC will hold crisis talks in the next 24 hours.

ARLC to make 'very real' NRL relocation call in next 24 hours
The ARL Commission is set to make a call on Sunday about potentially relocating the majority of clubs to ensure the NRL competition continues in the face of a surging COVID-19 outbreak in NSW.
It is expected the Central Coast-based Warriors would also be relocated, though it is unclear whether Newcastle and Canberra would join their Sydney-based rivals in shifting given they are not part of Greater Sydney's lockdown area.

This was the first game we had scheduled in Newwy since I moved here a few years ago.
Add to Origin being shafted and God really just doesn’t want me to cheer a team on at Marathon Stadium.

So the NRL is moving the Raiders out of a location that hasn’t had a single case of Covid in over a year to an area with higher cases.

They want all 16 teams in one jurisdiction because of how fast borders can and are closing.
It makes sense.
