And Sia smashing topknot Gutho was just beautiful.

He probably got up thinking..I won’t do that again.

One of my faves was Arthur running into Tapine instead of passing. His teeth will be loose today.

The defence was brutal and unrelentless for the entire 80, that’s what we’re proud of..

Starling, Hodgo, Tapine and Sia among it..along with a few others.

It was great to see.

Gotta give a huge rap to Williams for his defensive effort. First half it seemed like the entire Eels game plan was give to Papali'i and run at Williams. Sam was well and truly up to the tasks. Credit also to CHN for his assistance in that regard.

Individual efforts aside what I really noticed was our structure held for the pretty much the whole game. None of the major lapses we've become accustomed to this year. It was much more like Raiders 2019/20 versions.

I think my favourite was Hodgo sitting Sivo on his butt. BIG MIKA SIVO shout the commentators - Hodgo's reaction - "sit the **** down!"

(For total karma, "King" Gutho completely screwing up the goal kick from the offside try...)
And to all the people who doubted me, hello to them as well. - Mark Webber, Raiders Ballboy and Unluckiest F1 Driver Ever

I'm attacking in the right way, instead of just...attacking in the general direction. - Max Aaron (also eerily apropos for the Green Machine)

Amen, the ol' heart rate was still up for quite a while. Not even watching soccer could bring it down, and soccer's pretty dull.

All the calls were penalty sufficient. I’m surprised Sivo went off the field for an assessment. CHN hardly touched him.

I’m hoping it was the NRL official who made the call to bring him off after Sivo stayed down so long.

I was one who said he should hang 'em up after this year. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. Whether it's a form he can sustain or just a magnificent swansong, I'm now pretty comfortable with Chicka on the left wing, Jordy on the right in my atg Raiders team.

Slipping past Parramatta Eels gives Canberra Raiders belief

Gold Coast hero Jordan Rapana says their upset win over fourth-placed Parramatta gave them massive belief in the run to the NRL finals.

"It doesn't matter where you're playing everyone just puts their head down and does the job that needs to be done. I enjoyed playing there - I got to touch the ball a lot more than I usually would on the wing - but I'm just glad I did a job for my teammates and for my coaches."

Jordan Rapana: Kangaroos and Kiwis withdrawal from World Cup disappointing, but world’s problems are bigger than football

New Zealand international Jordan Rapana says it's disappointing his Kiwis and Australia have pulled out of this year's Rugby League World Cup, but the world's problems are bigger than football.

"It's obviously disappointing. I always loved the opportunity to play for my country, especially in a World Cup, but there's bigger things going in the world at the moment," Rapana said.

The 40/20 save with the boot was classic Raps.

He’s a “fly by the seat of his pants” kind of guy.

Not afraid to make the odd error and pure adrenaline for 80mins.

He’s our #1 for the rest of the season and I’m very comfortable with it.

You just know he will cost us a few times but will do the above average stuff too.
Hes likely to make a break too, big strong body with determination.

Kind of guy that would relish playing with the young uns, and they would love him too.

Just watched the last try-saver tackle from Rapana again a few times. If you were a punter and had to place a bet when Sivo got the ball, he would have been at 1.01 odds to score. Even the Parra player behind him had a grin on his face and Rapana was almost out of the picture. Even half a shot before contact was made there seemed to be no chance of stopping Sivo. Rapana enters the screen in a blur and defies the laws of physics to bundle him out. Amazing stuff.

It could very well be that Stuart and Two Dads were in the end gearing up to have us peak later in the season, as per some of the theories thrown around here throughout the season.

There is no doubt in my mind that we are completely unable to withstand that sort of weight of possession weeks or months ago, simply from a physical standpoint. Big key was the line speed and physicality in our hits - probably the first time I've seen this season where there isn't a huge drop off from the 1st to the 80th minute.

I don’t think other teams will play into our hands like the Eela did. Smart footballers don’t continue to try and play through the middle when the defence is that focused, they attack down the edges. Eels looked much more dangerous and made a lot of extra ground when the went wide in the last 20 minutes.

Yeah I think a smart team would make yards and a quick play the ball more often than not targeting Williams and Croker rather than try to target the middle where Starling actually tackles like a mini Gillmeister and even Hodgo caught the mood.
