Gee I hope they get Pearce back.

James or Lui in for Papalii, Whitehead in for Sutton? Wighton rested for another week, or in for Williams? It's a hard call to drop anyone from tonight's team really.

Huge game this.
Knights look the most likely team to be challenging for that 8th spot

I'm still peeved off as to what happened in the first round. From memory we were leading 16-0. We are much fitter now, a better team w/o Aekins at fullback, Scott, Havili and Horse as bench. We haven't seen them for a while.

Bring it on. Hope we give it to them.

Also peeved off as to what happened last year as well when we beat Melbourne and let it go to our heads, only to lose to Newcastle the next game when Ponga gave us a bath.

Seriously, Newcastle are not a top 8 side and I've seen them play quite a few times (albeit mostly w/o Ponga).

Adam O'Brien is overrated and nowhere near Bellamy and Robinson in tactics and man management, despite him being an ex-Storm and Roosters assistant coach.

9 Day turn around will help with the physical injuries. Ponga showed in Origin that he is back to some good form. He is a classy player and very capable of taking a game away from an opposition almost on his own. Next Tuesday however should see a number of Raider players returning from injury and available for selection. After a win this will be a different kind of selection headache for Sticky.

What a couple of sensational double headers for those lucky enough to be in Qld at the moment.

Knights v Raiders followed by the game of the year and then the week after Raiders v Dragons followed by 3rd v 4th.

Circumstances have worked out that I was lucky enough to come up to Brisbane last weekend and are now going to stay for the next couple of weeks.

It is Magic Round every week!!

Not sure we are better off with Wighton in current form, but so be it.

I'd put Wighton at fullback so that Rapana's body can have a slight break out on the wing. That would allow Frawley and Williams to continue their partnership.

That puts a question mark on whether to drop Semi or HSS.

I'd give Wighton another week even if he doesn't need it.

There's no doubt that when in form, he's our best player. He's single-handedly won us games in the last few years.

But last night, if Jack was playing, he'd have a couple of drops and probably kicked out on the full.

In a game that was so tight, one of those errors could have been the difference between us winning and losing.

Frawley is steady and reliable, exactly what we needed in that game.

I'm obviously not saying bench Wighton for the rest of the year, but he's had a big couple of months. New baby, Origin, injury, etc ... do a Whitehead, give him a good rest, and hope he comes good in the business end of the year when we will need him in a fully rested, healthy state to compete with the big boys.

Yeah, coz that would mean Ricky admits he's wrong about having him at 5/8th this year.

It would be a dumb idea to have him play fullback sorry. I'd be open to him in the centres, but that won't be happening either.

I kinda agree re Whigton. He screwed up a few times at origin. He just lacks that polish i think.

Awesom athlete, effort and grit. Just sometimes loose with those kicks. I do think he is improving in that area though.

I can see him improving though and getting better in this area.

Savage, Rapana, HSS, Timoko and CNK as our first choice outside backs leaves me feeling more optimistic for next year, if we can sort our halves out.

Not sure that Whitehead deserves to supplant Hudson... will be interesting to see what happens, although as captain in waiting you'd have to think they pick him #11

Wighton-Whitehead-Croker have done good things in the past but as has been well documented, they seem behind the pack this year. I can see Ricky riding out the season with them but next year will be more interesting

Ryan Sutton set to miss one to two weeks with chest injury

The Canberra Raiders have had another injury blow with lock Ryan Sutton set to miss 1-2 weeks with a chest injury.

"We've just got the protocols we've got to follow in regards to HIA with Josh," Ricky Stuart said."He'll probably have a secondary test come the middle of the week. I think Ryan Sutton's probably a week or two weeks out with a chest injury."

Big game. I think we are a much tougher side across the park than the Knights but they will be up for a big performance after 2 very disappointing weeks. Ponga is the only player in their team that worries me though, maybe Best if he was playing.

I reckon Kris will be at right center, Sutton out with injury and Timoko on the bench.
