Exactly, I’ll do it for 280.
The Titans reportedly said no to a $350k figure from his manager. Should be well south of that. $280k getting there.

$350K would make him a "fortunate son", at that price he'll be waiting "down on the corner"

Yes we apparently are still in the hunt, only us and the Tigers, he's wanting $450k for four years which is I imagine what's holding it up

$450,000 for 4 years ? Not worth it. He's lazy and inconsistent. I would take him if it's $280,000 for 1-2 years.

Let Wests Tigers take him - good collection with previous similar recruits like Joey and James Roberts. Hope they sign Curtis Scott too.

We need signings similar to Papalii for Parra - cheap and under value, if they fail then little risk but great reward if they pay off.

I think the raiders are rightly wanting to land a half first. Once that piece of the puzzle is sorted we'll know how much we have left over and what remaining gaps need to be filled. Eg if we land fog but it requires us to release hodgo then we need to ensure we have ample funds to secure a nrl quality depth hooker. I personally hope we land him but reckon the club's approach of holding their nerve is the right one.

Don’t know who NRL Scores are, but this story indicates that the Raiders are not willing to meet Peachey’s “lofty demands”.

If we pay him $450k for 4 years it confirms we’ve lost the plot.

I think the length of the deal is more concerning than the price. He stunk it up for the entirety of his Titans deal until contract year. Two years max, or forget about it.

Lazy and inconsistent this year? No.

His tackle counts are good, he was pretty consistent this year considering he spent a half dozen games at 5/8 as well.

$450 is his asking price. I don't think that will be the final result. But his manager is right to throw it out there for him. And then it will be peeled back a year and a fair bit knocked off. He is a good player and it won't be total peanuts.

If the Tigers _are_ really after him then they must be moving Brooks on. Because they have Hastings coming in who is a lock or a half...

I thought Peachey was younger than 30. So I looked it up - he’s only 28.

So if that social media post couldn’t even get his age right, what else is it getting wrong?

Edit - Wait, what the hell; I’ve looked at a few different sites now, some list his birth year as 1991 and some as 1993. This is very strange.

Yeah i thought he was younger too, but my google search came up with 30
I do have vague memeory of something about this though, it came out half way through his career or something that his official records were wrong? But i cant seem to find it via google... may be i just made that up in my head though

4 years is too long for someone who won't have a defined role

3 years for a million sounds about right. 2 years would be better though and could pay a bit more accordingly

Although I'm in favour of this signing at the right price, you need to look at how he's been over several years. This year he has been good, but very inconsistent during his time at the GC. And lazy as well. He hasn't been value for money during his time at the GC and his own club is not resigning him.

Choice between Raiders and the high flying Tigers........this is going to be interesting. If you were Peachey and had your choice of the two it would have to be Canberra over that basketcase club would it not? Or have we fallen that far this year?

Look it might be his last contract in NRL... sure he'd like to be as succesful as possible but might be his last big payday before his earning capacity plummets for the rest of his life... I'd be taking the best offer- if it's close then it's a tough decision but if it's 50k per year more, I'd take the money, that's some peoples whole wages, or close to.

It's a slightly different decision at 28/30 than at 20, where success can make your next contract, in your peak earning years even bigger.
