Jamal Fogarty joins Canberra Raiders on three year deal
Dobbo channel 9 news brisbane reporting we are in talks with Fogarty and likely to sign shortly with us. Said titans would consider release.

Hmm. Not really enthused by either option. It's a shame Fogarty isn't a couple of years younger. Still, probably the best option I've heard raised.

I’d take Fogarty. Solves goal kicking with Toots on the way out of the best 17 too.

Yeah i agree... neither make me excited, but i dont hate either either. They're OK footballers.Roger Kenworthy wrote: ↑September 22, 2021, 7:08 pm Hmm. Not really enthused by either option. It's a shame Fogarty isn't a couple of years younger. Still, probably the best option I've heard raised.

Papa will be happy with this signing - will show him up at sprint work!
Re: Canberra Raiders linked to Gold Coast Titans half Jamal Fogarty
Fogarty definitely the best option on the market. I would be happy enough with that. Not at all sure about CHT.

I really really like this TBH.
Fog is:
1. A right half
2. GKer
3. Experienced, even if its in age over NRL games.
4. Decent general play kicker
5. Decent organiser.
If you look at the stats, he is Sezer (Titans version) 2.0. Sezer was a cog in the machine, and took us to a GF.
I think Fog is that kind of half we need. We need better than avg, not superstar.

Re: Canberra Raiders linked to Gold Coast Titans half Jamal Fogarty
I don't love it, but I love it more than any of the other options that have been floated, none of which I loved in the slightest.
Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

I’d be quite happy with Fogarty as our 7.
He has impressed me with his organising, kicking and general play.
A 2 year deal would be spot on.
Peachy too please

Agree to all the above. And I looked up his age, surprised to see only 28 in December. That’s fine on a 2 or 3 year deal!Matt wrote: ↑September 22, 2021, 7:23 pm I really really like this TBH.

Let’s hope like hell the club will use the period of his contract to actually plan a big move for a really good #7 during it - whether via development or signing

Gold Coast Titans co-captain Jamal Fogarty set for shock switch
Jamal Fogarty could make a shock departure from the Gold Coast with the Raiders ready to swoop on the Titans co-captain. Canberra coach Ricky Stuart is keen to lure Fogarty to the nation’s capital next season with Titans hierarchy open to the prospect of an immediate release for the playmaker. It is understood Fogarty will hold urgent talks with Gold Coast bosses over the next 48 hours seeking permission to negotiate with rival clubs.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Raiders can't afford both Fogarty and Tyrone Peachey under the cap.

Probably the first halfback we have been linked to that I’m optimistic about. Organising Goal Kick half from the Titans. Last time we got one of those we eventually made a GF lol.
I think he would compliment Jack well, he is a bit of a late bloomer like Cody Walker

Not a meh signing at all. There’s a lot to be excited about.
Suits the team and Jack really well. Great player in the halves in his own right. Mature player in his prime years. Solid defender.
What’s not to love.
I didn’t even consider him an option. Great thinking from the recruitment team.

Like others I'm okay with this. No world beater but should be able to do a job while we look for or develop someone better. Could well have a bit of improvement left in him even at his age given he's only really played 2 seasons of first grade
Re: Canberra Raiders linked to Gold Coast Titans half Jamal Fogarty
Nine News Queensland suggesting it is a three year deal, not that the particular reporter is that reliable with his information.

Likewise happy enough with this, it may just be the best option available... less upside than Ash Taylor but significantly less downside, and in fact pretty reliable
I dare say he's a first grade half

Seems like a lot of smoke developing quickly around this. Would be good to have it locked away soon so we know where to move on to next.

Best option available. Much prefer Fogarty over Ash Taylor, Brooks, Dylan Brown, Cust, Milford, Lachlan Lam, Townsend (even if they were available). Gold Coast's attack has looked good this year - helps if you have Justin Hollbrook as coach as well !
Cannot understand why we cannot sign both Peachey and Fogarty - I pointed out on another post we have around $1.3 million to spend with the departures of G Williams, Scott and Ryan James.

Agreed on the above. Sezer when he joined us was not flashy, Ok signing, but we made the prelim final the year he joined us and a GF. Fogarty is better than Sezer in running and getting repeat setsBilly Walker wrote: ↑September 22, 2021, 7:44 pmYep - this is very good I think.
