Obviously a great human and influence on culture. Was an absolutely gun signing solely as a player too. Was genuinely a better second rower than Kevin Proctor (the reason we went for him) before he moved into the middle. And was at what you'd think was way less than half the cost.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

Yep, this bloke has clearly been a leader across the club, both on and off the field. He has obviously been a cornerstone of a shift in culture within the playing group.
With that in mind, it is easy to forget how **** awesome he has been on the park. Courageous, aggressive and consistently top shelf in his first 5 seasons. At times he brought me back to the days of Ruben Wiki. Can't give him any higher praise than that.
So glad he is staying involved with the club.

One of the very best humans to have ever pulled on the lime green. Thanks for being a part of the club Sia and congrats on an excellent playing career

Why Sia Soliola is the greatest clubman in the history of the Canberra Raiders
Canberra Raiders forward Sia Soliola has announced his retirement after 17 seasons playing professional rugby league in the NRL and English Super League. He will be remembered as a tough, hard-running player, who emigrated from the backline well before he arrived in the ACT, in 2015, where he went on to play 137 games for the Raiders.
However, it’s his contribution off the field in the Canberra community that will possibly leave a greater lasting impact.

Sia was a great footballer but is just a genuinely good human. Need more people like him in this world.

Thanks Sia,great to see him still involved in the club,
Re: Sia Soliola retires
I reckon this was a fair reason why the second half of the 2020 season was difficult for Sia.

Thanks. We seem to be losing quite a few lately
Re: Sia Soliola retires
Good on you Sia. It’s the greatest shame that he didn’t win a competition in 2019 as that would have been very fitting. It is also a shame his last year didn’t go to plan

How Sia Soliola made the Canberra Raiders a better club
Love affairs are not a common storyline around the NRL, with everyone being so masculine and all, but every now and then a player will seep into the psyche of an NRL coach. For Ricky Stuart, that player was Sia Soliola.
“I needed a leader,” he says. “And he was a leader among men, on and off the field. He’s a provider. He provided energy and he provided the aggression we needed. He has improved our club. I can’t say enough about him. The boys call him ‘Uncle’, which speaks for itself.”

Re: Sia Soliola retires
Good story. It mentions that when Ricky Stuart visited the Seattle Seahawks, the players passed by the open door of their welfare officer every day. He said that some stopped to talk every day, some not. But he knew something was wrong when they changed their daily routine, and that’s when he knew something was wrong. And Stuart said that then he knew what role Sia Soliola needed to follow at the club when he retired.
