My wife hired him as a Teachers Aide in 2019 and said he is a wonderful young man. Promising prospect too.

Hola for a Marshall
Outstanding

Billy, next time you write off a Raiders youngster after 10 games just remember it took you 5000 posts to find your feet. Croker numbers ;)
That’s a very fair analogy - it’s not the quality of the posts just the sheer numbers that matter right. Very Crokeresque!
Haha I'm just battling away like Matt Gafa - 10 years between first grade stints.

No niggles. Not recovering from an 8th knee reco ?

Wow.
Looks like he has had injuries the past two years. Dislocated wrist kept him out for half of last year. Only played seven Queensland Cup games this year and three NRL.
Given the injuries and the fact that Cowboys have some good young players coming through, I'm not too concerned that he wasn't cracking the side. Looks like a good gamble to me and probably didn't have to fork out too much money to get it done.
Im pretty sure he picked up an injury at the start of the yr. Was being looked at as a starting edge. Was never going to play 80 though, doesn't have the motor. Not sure Dunn and Wright were the go though.

Then later in the yr they looked at all those young kids like Luki, Naeme and Nanai. They all look very good, esp Luki IMO.

So yeah, I think he became the odd 1 out.

I was hoping we'd have a crack at Luki or Nanai, didn't expect this to be the result. But not at all disappointed. I think he will prove to be a good buy.

I'm happy with this signing. By the stats he seems to be a very strong prospect. Can't wait to see what he brings

The Canberra Times is reporting that the two year deal for Peter Hola also includes an option for 2024. Not clear if it is a club or player option, I'd guess a club option: https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/ ... /?cs=14239

This will be a good signing. Potentially gives us good punch off the punch which was an Achilles heal for us this year

Cowboys forum said he struggled defensively due to lack of conditioning. Not enough game time but could come good. Best preseason ever coming up!

Dislocated wrist. That would definitely affect his defence not to mention weight training. I hope our medical due diligence has been thorough. We can use another running meter eater. Hope his wrist is 100% to start the season.

We have more than one Joe Tapine.

One Joe Tapine could be in the best 10 players in the comp. The other just goes through the motions and is just first grade standard.

I know which one I prefer.
Totally agree.

OFFICIAL: Canberra Raiders sign North Queensland Cowboys prop Peter Hola

The Canberra Raiders have continued to build their squad for 2022, with North Queensland Cowboys Prop Peter Hola signing with the club, for the next two seasons with an option for a third.

“Peter’s a big body shape but is also very mobile. He’s predominantly a middle forward but can also play in the back row if needed,” Peter Mulholland said. “He definitely fits the mould of the next generation of forwards coming through, he’s a big guy with a big engine and great leg speed so he’ll be a player who we can help to continue his development.”

Cowboys fans not too happy with this, looking at their Facebook page.

Hopefully we have a decent buy on our hands here.

Welcome aboard Peter Hola. I've seen your attacking highlights reel but I don't know much about your defensive prowess. With the middles we have, as long as they stay healthy, we should be ok on the yardage gained stats. How much did Hola cost?

Unlike Elliott, he might provide a point of difference and a niche. Our interchange forwards didn’t provide much energy last year, something which Hola could help with
