Canberra Raiders considering a play for Cowboys forward Peter Hola



North Queensland youngster Peter Hola's popped up on their radar as a possible signing to bolster their middle forward stocks. Hola's contracted to the Cowboys for next year, but he's someone the Green Machine are considering making a play for. He's contracted to North Queensland for next season, but only played three games this year under new coach Todd Payten.

Canberra Raiders sign North Queensland Cowboys forward Peter Hola on two year deal



The Raiders have bolstered their forward pack for 2022 by signing hard-running Cowboys prop Peter Hola on a two-year deal. Hola has been granted a release from the final year of his 2022 contract at the Cowboys.

"He provides us with a different body shape to what we have, he is more of a Joe Tapine build," Peter Mullholland said. "He had a good conversation with Ricky before we agreed to terms."

Given the injuries and the fact that Cowboys have some good young players coming through, I'm not too concerned that he wasn't cracking the side. Looks like a good gamble to me and probably didn't have to fork out too much money to get it done.

One Joe Tapine could be in the best 10 players in the comp. The other just goes through the motions and is just first grade standard.

Hahah I was thinking that but he's taller than Tapine, so I'm thinking he means taller and lankier rather than the Horburgh/Sutton type builds, or the Guler type big unit... just poorly worded.
