Wouldn't go that far, but he is better than handy.FROG wrote:Nene is an absolute gun. I saw him heaps for the titans and he could be anything. Reminded me of a younger version of fergo. Only problem is he's a winger and we've got the best 2 in the business

Agree with FROG I'm a massive fan of Nene.
well, I guess you could say that I'm buy curious.

I’ll pass on nene

Agreed. I'd happily have him as a starter but not ahead of who we have already and not at his likely wage.Pigman wrote:I’ll pass on nene

Yeah he’s a good nrl FGer, just not here.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
Agree 100% with above 2 posts. I love him as a player but we're full there. If he's on the outer I'd love to see him end up at Newcastle. Skilful and strong and they could really do with that after losing Leilua, Gagai and co (and shifting Sione M) in recent years.
Ugh. Just remembered that unfortunately for them they've signed Moga.

The same article has Lewis Brown on the outer at Manly. Now, he isn't a world beater, and well down on where he was a few years ago, BUT, if the price is right, would you want him as a depth player? A backrower who can play hooker and centre at a pinch. Has international experience too. Im saying depth, depth, NOT top 17.

I think Lewis Brown could be a good depth pickup at the right price. What do people think about Thaiday for a season on minimal coin? He's got the **** at the moment because nobody called him about his non-selection for Australia and seems worried that Broncos want to get rid of him. I know he's way past his best, but could be handy off the interchange, or even just for depth if our other forwards are going well.

<to the tune of Fireman Sam>
When he's not leading with the forearm,
Sam is always throwing a palm.
If you're stuck in a melee, give him a shout,
He'll be there to help you out.
So move aside make way, for Third Man Sam!
'cause he's "gonna save the day", Third Man Sam.
'cause he's grubby to the core,
Sam's always Third Man for sure!

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
Wonder if a year of reserve grade still has the idiot asking for overs.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
I'd much prefer him to Clydsdale at a similar price.
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
Yeah Rein is right in that zone of failed former “future stars” who I’d really like to take a shot on over Clydesdale
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
Rein looked alright filling in for Wallace earlier in the year.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
The problem with him recently is he rates himself a genuine starting first grade hooker and prices himself accordingly.
If he was asking for Clydesdale money you'd fall over yourself to sign him.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
The way the roster is shaping for 2018 I really see our club going hard for a half for the 2019 season. Which qualty halves are available to look at after November 1? I still really like May from Panthers with it appearing Moylan is now staying put.
Unless the club feels Roache or Clark will make a case for a position internally?

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
Not keen on May. Not keen on any young halves at the moment except Cleary and Taylor.
I still think if we fix our go forward in the middle we can be a contender with what we have.

May is a backrower/five-eighth. Big money for him would be a mistake hey.

He’ll be asking for more than he’s worth and he’s worth more than we’d be able to pay
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
I'm not sure he would be that much. He just spent a year in reggies and nobody has offered him a deal yet. Beggars cant be choosers.

I still think we're short in the forwards after losing Taylor, Priest and Lima. Had a look on zero tackle not sure if it's up to date but here's a few forwards off contract that I think we should be looking to sign.
Sam Tagataese, Albert Vete, Willis Meehan, Mark Nicholls, Kelepi Tanginoa, Tony Williams or Chris Grevsmuhl.

I would be happy if we could have Tagataese coming off the bench for us. Not overly keen on the others listed, Vete may be worth a shot.

Vete has re-signed with the warriors
Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2017
I would take Mark Nicholls back. I think he's got a lot of potential to develop into a great "underrated" player.
