Don't be naive. It's not Liberal Or Labor, it's just the same old officially corrupt 'establishment' looking out for each other. Once they dispensed with the jury and put in him front of his actual peers, he was never staying in jail.

Son, we live in a world that has forums, and those forums have to be guarded by Mods. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Nickman? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Lucy, and you curse GE. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that GE’s moderation, while tragic, probably saved lives; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, keeps threads on track and under the appropriately sized, highlighted green headings.
You want moderation because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that forum -- you need me on that forum. We use words like "stay on topic," "use the appropriate forum," "please delete." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very moderation that I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you get a green handle and edit a post. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think about moderation.

Two and a half weeks into shutdown and the religion thread rears it’s head. Strap yourselves in boys and girls!

Just watched an interview from a priest ranting and raving on skynews, lets just say he slipped up. Admitted on national TV that the victim was assaulted but in a country town and not Pell.

I think you need a history lesson. Start with the 1955 split in the ALP and keep going until you hit SDA factional control.

How much control does the Catholic church have in the ALP? They made Penny Wong vote against gay marriage.

Keating talks about it in his autobiography with Kerry O'Brien, it was basically a Labor faction in the 60s and 70s

Well the Royal Commissions report on Pell has finally been made public, surprise surprise they found he knew of the abuses Whether he was guilty of abuse himself we don’t know but there’s no doubt he was complicit which is just as abhorrent.
