For NSW;

Happy enough with the back 5. I would select Latrell to take over from Staggs due to injury.

Halves; they need to lift their game. They were ****.

Props were ok but start with Paulo and Hass

9 was ok

Second row was ver average. Would much rather Angus and anyone else. Murray to start.

13- I’m going to put this down to his head knock but again was pretty average.

Bench;

Matterson never to play again
Martin is ****
Chrighton is not a 14
Rcg went ok

Freddy likes his Roosters. How can even Suaalii be in the squad and not JAC?

And I think Young's form is better than that of Angus Crichton's.

GE probably knows? So players that make the squad but not the final 18 players for gameday - do they still receive the SOO rep bonus? Does that bonus come under the cap?

The SOO payment doesn’t come under the clubs’ cap. The clubs may promise bonuses for SOO selection, but that is under club contracts… and those bonuses count. But I’m not sure if all 22 get the full separate SOO payment or not. You’d think it’d only be given to the actual team, but when you consider that all the players have to go into camp, they probably get at least something even if they don’t play. And post COVID is different, in that the teams actually need all of the players and they may be called upon.

There are quite a few there on reputation more than performance. Radley and Jurbo are two prime examples. Radley done nothing this year to justify selection. Jurbo's stats are downright ordinary for an 80 minute player. Averages 53 metres per game. All he does is catch and pass these days.

Gutho is cover for fullback with Latrell and Turbo both missing. Problem is he's not the next best available. Dylan Edwards is easily the best option. Also have Nicho Hynes in the squad.

Koroisau, Burton to start as Blues make changes for Origin II

Panthers hooker Apisai Koroisau will wear the number nine for New South Wales after he was named to start in Origin II by coach Brad Fittler. With Damien Cook named on the bench, Koroisau's inclusion at hooker will see seven Panthers players named in the starting lineup with Stephen Crichton and Liam Martin also set to start in the centres and back row respectively.

He's just there to control the ruck in defense. He'll be able to Jurbo all over the place with the way they called the first game.

As per my post earlier. 80 minute player averaging 53m per game. He rarely takes a hit up these days. There's a lot riding on Haas and Paulo to cart the ball up. Those two are the only props in the 17.

Very odd for anyone to have a crack at the Trbojevic pick. He's the best middle defender in the game and that's why he's there. Not having good defenders there is why they lost game 1.

If that's the case when why isn't he replacing Yeo at lock, which is his regular position?

Who is taking those tough carries though? One prop on the bench and one on the starting line up. I think NSW was just beaten by a better team, particularly in the spine. Maybe Api will provide the creativity that the halfs couldn't?

I think Billy Slater just set the record for saying umm in an interview
The spiral of silence refers to the idea that when people fail to speak, the price of speaking rises. As the price to speak rises, still fewer speak out, which further causes the price to rise, so that fewer people yet will speak out, until a whole culture or nation is silenced. This is what happened in Germany.

If you do not speak, you are not being neutral, but are contributing to the success of the thing you refuse to name and condemn.

Women's State of Origin: NSW Sky Blues' Millie Boyle ready to stop Queensland in Canberra

Pride is on the line for the NSW Sky Blues. NSW has not managed to win the annual women's State of Origin clash since 2019, Queenslander taking the shield over the last two years.

"We're going to take Canberra as a home advantage," Millie Boyle said. "For the past two years, with COVID, no one from NSW was actually able to even come up and watch, or any family, because the borders were shut. I'm living here at the moment, so I've got a fair bit of family and friends coming."

You mean from the props I'm guessing because To'o, Tupou, Burton will all be lining up from our own end.
The middle battering rams will be Haas, Paulo and I think Angus and Talakhai.
Angus is surprisingly good at keeping his feet in the middle. Talakhai will get a short impact stint.

I guess what im asking is, does anyone know if Jack still gets paid?
Might have to make do with the anywhere from about 700-950K (depending on different reports) he gets from us.

With electricity and food bills rising, not going to be easy for the young bloke.

if you look at those women's teams, it should be a really good game. If you take the best 34 players in the country, you have some really talented athletes and well worth watching.

The question is when you are trying to fill 10 teams and realistically need 200 players, does the talent drop away so much that the spectacle is pretty weak.

Just looking at those women's teams - when did Yasmin Meakes and former Raider Adam Clydesdale get married? I know they have been going out together for some time.

Tazmin Gray for Qld is Jordy Rapana's sister.
