I'll see if I can get to either Saturdays or Tuesdays games. [torrential rain predicted so that's unlikely now]

Owen Hromow and Regan Carr the co-captains of the Under 18s ACT team. Still haven’t seen any full team lists for either team. The Under 18s team finished in last place last time, they should have a much better shot this time around.

Erindale College posted about the following players/coach making the U18 side:

Congratulations to the following students for their selection in the ACT Schoolboys Rugby League team to compete in the Australian Schoolboys Championships at Redcliffe in week 1 of the school holidays; Sam Gash, Regan Carr, Jacob Iosefa, Jack Clutterbuck, Ethan Alaia, Jordan Eti, Jack Anderson, Noah Martin, Max Mercer, Ben Castle, Alex Sweeney, Ben Mcspadden. Jayden Svager and Olly Bolagici who were selected as shadow players. Unfortunately Siamani Leuluai, Xavier Cacciotti and Mathias Ah Khoi were ruled out with injury. Ash Barnes will coach the team.

Hope they've all packed their wet weather gear. Could be a condensed tournament due to the weather.

Junior Canberra Raiders help to give ACT Schoolboys chance of toppling the might of Queensland

The boys from the nation’s capital have been handed what is billed as the toughest assignment of the tournament to open the Australian schoolboys nationals, but they aren’t running scared. The ACT Under 18s side will face off against reigning ASSRL champions Queensland, to open the tournament on Saturday.

“We have a lot of guys that have played junior reps in Harold Matts (for the Raiders) that had a really successful campaign, they have played at a strong level. They are ready for this challenge,” coach Ash Barnes said.

The ACT still in it at half time, but Queensland unstoppable in the second half. Owen Hromow the best for the ACT.

HALF TIME

NSW Combined Independent Schoools 24
Australian Capital Territory 6

The ACT scored a nice try with Jack White putting in a good kick to the corner, to set up a try for winger Jack Turner. They trailed by 12 at that stage and threatened to score more points. But NSW CIS struck back with another try late in the first half.

Under 15s

HALF TIME

Queensland Whites 24
Australian Capital Territory 0

Queensland scored early, going to a six point lead. It remained 6-0 for a good part of the first half, withe ACT getting good possession and territory. But they could score. Queensland then got some momentum and penalties late in the half scoring three quick tries. The Queensland team a lot bigger and the ACT defenders too often on the back foot.

Very wet field, raining.

UNDER 15s

FULL TIME

Queensland White 34
Australian Capital Territory 4

Some very spirited defence from the ACT at times, one try each until the final seconds the second half. Byron Cahill produced a great try saver on a rampaging Queensland winger at one stage. Queensland scored their second try of the second half right on the bell. Prop Zildjian Tafili one of the best for the ACT. Indeed, named man of the match.
