Jack Bird is as fat and unfit as I've seen an NRL player in a long time.

Time for Timoko to give Bird a bath.

Same team that beat the …
Gina Riley: Oh, come on, John. That’s a bit old hat, the corrupt IOC delegate.
John Clarke: Old hat? Gina, in the scientific world when they see that something is happening again and again and again, repeatedly, they don’t call it old hat. They call it a pattern.

Things I’d like to see that won’t happen:

1. Stand in coach

2. If Savage is back I’d like to see Cotric told to get serious in reserves and Hoppa continue on the wing.

3. Brad Morkos needs a run - flip a coin between Timoko and Kris - I’d say Timoko needs a rest maybe.

4. Whitehead, Starling, Sutton out - Ata M, Peter Hola and someone else in.

Finals are gone let’s see what we have in this squad and who we can cut.

Why CNK? If Savage is fit we have to continue his development. If he isn’t fit surely we look to develop someone who will be here next year?

1. Savage (if fit)
2. Hoppa (right wing)
3. Timoko (right centre)
4. Kris (left centre)
5. Rapana (left wing)
6. Wighton
7. Fogarty
8. Papa

13. Whitehead (certain to start)
14. Starling
15. Mariota
16. Elliott
17. Guler
18. Morkos

Raps on left as I wouldn’t move Hoppa to the other wing as he’s played 3 in a row on the right.

Canberra Raiders' depth tested with Joe Tapine injury and Ryan Sutton concussion, as Nick Cotric faces ban

The Raiders' forward depth will be tested with in-form prop Joe Tapine anxiously awaiting scans on Monday on his injured ribs, as Canberra are also set to lose winger Nick Cotric. Ryan Sutton is also in doubt. The Englishman came off the bench against Penrith and with his first carry was hit on the nose with the swinging fist of James Fisher-Harris.

Speaking of Sutton's HIA, I really hope Dylan Edwards pulls up OK after that dirty high shot from Cotric...

I think we will beat St George.
I just hope we dont make the 8. Not with the way our attack is.

Im not suggesting Stuart needs to go... but we need different ideas in attack. We lack creativity big time.

GE - just out of curiosity, say Tarps is out with his ribs for a while, is there anything that could be gained or lost by fighting his charge if he were to miss games through injury regardless?

1. Xavier Savage
2. James Schiller / Albert Hopoate
3. Sebastian Kris
4. Matthew Timoko
5. Jordan Rapana
6. Jack Wighton
7. Jamal Fogarty
8. Josh Papali'i
9. Zac Woolford
10. Emre Guler
11. Hudson Young
12. Elliot Whitehead
13. Adam Elliot

14. Tom Starling
15. Corey Harawira-Naera
16. Trey Mooney
17. Corey Horsburgh

I'd like Schiller (if available) on the wing over Hopoate just cause he's got more speed. Would have liked an Anderson debut but doesn't look like he's available.
Mooney to get some game time to end the season.

Ah yes, Dragons v Raiders.

The ploding, also-ran, 9th-10th place cup.

The only real difference is that Anthony Griffin has been under a fair bit of media scrutiny and pressure for the Dragons failed season; whilst Ricky gets a 3-year contract extension as his legion of media cronies cheer him on.

The Canberra Raiders' dream is 'definitely' alive, but with fewer troops

The Green Machine has belief that the finals dream is still well and truly alive, albeit with a few key troops out.

"Definitely it's alive," Raiders halfback Jamal Fogarty said. "We've got four games to give it get a real hot crack and hopefully it falls our way. It's definitely something we can fix up - the concentration bit. Everyone was just a bit off and it showed. We were very erratic and frustrated.
